What is equilbration of temperature ?

So I'm revising the effect of temperature & alcohol on membrane permeability and it says

Equilibration of temperature before soaking discs into the water will improve reliability.

But what does equilbration of temperature mean?:smile:
If the temperature of the water is higher than the room temperature, it will start to cool down. The water will eventually reach the same temperature as the room - equilibrium temperature.
