What's the latest date by which schools can pull you out of exams?

I've had warnings for my attendance and been told that if I miss anymore school I'll be kicked out. I was told that if I was kicked out I could pay for my exams privately and still do them, but I couldn't afford them.

This was in December. Would the school be able to withdraw me from exams at this point if I stopped attending and they decided to exclude me?

It is possible to withdraw candidates right up to the day of the exam itself.

Oh. That's bad news. Would the school get a refund at this point, or would it be a bit pointless for them to withdraw me?
