-Play down slavery like its no big deal. E.g.

-They think racism is no longer a big deal (thinking blacks are imagining racism is racist in and of itself since it assumes that blacks have extremely poor judgement
-They are against reparations, affirmative action, etc – against any serious, concrete policy to undo the damage done and provide equal opportunity.

Is this a joke? I believe most of these things and i'm about as far away from being racist as you can be. I know this because I have family who are actually racist.
You devalue the word when you be silly like this, it is a real problem, but most of these things aren't it.
