Anyone doing iGCSE History?

Is anyone doing Iran-Iraq conflict for the source paper in history?

It would be great if you could give some advice / say which country hates the other (Eg: Israel hating everyone)

Thanks

Im doing it but your question is quite vague. In terms of countries hating each other/their relationships between each other:

Iraq was generally on good terms with Iraq-Iran and the relationship is fairly stable today I believe. However the Iran-Iraq War whereby Saddam Hussein invaded Iran caused much anger between the two countries. Saddam also hates the Western world (capitalist world) because Saddam Hussein supported Arab Nationalism (Definition: Arab nationalists opposed western interference in their affairs and were also in favor of a politically united Arab world. They believed that since all Arabs were linked by ties of language, religion and culture and history there should be a single Arab Nation or Islamic State)

Iran was different. Their leader - the Shah - was very pro-west introducing things like huge shopping malls and importing food from America thus undermining achievements of farmers. This had an effect on the people to such an extent they developed a hatred for the west. This was partly the reason that the Iranian Revolution took place in 1979. Khomeini took over and was very anti-west also. He also hated Iraq partly due to religious reasons. - Iran was led by Shiite Muslims but Iraq was led by Sunni Muslims despite the latter only making up less than 20% of the population.

The western powers were disturbed and intimidated by both countries however they preferred Iraq due to Iran having completely cut ties with the Western World and as thus American Forces "supported" the Iraqui's in the Iran-Iraq War

This is what I can gather from a brief read of the textbook however some of this may be wrong.
