Do you guys remember what was the question about relating to the -OH observation?

It was basically about how to test for the presence of the -OH group

are you sure ???????? :frown:(((

Yup

And do you remember was this question before or after the haloalkane ( E F G) one ?

But the x-axis was discrete data. How could that be a line graph?

But a line graph is most suitable as it lets us see the overall trend, yes? It's easier to interpret that way, especially because in the next question, we were asked to give an estimate for some C3H7OH, I think. How could you have gotten an estimate using a bar graph?
Test for OH is universal indicator turning purple/blue
Ugh forgot about K2CO3, wrote K2O instead
Messed up on conversion from G to F
Incomplete combustion is invalid as mass of alcohol burnt is lower so no. of moles of alcohol is lower. Delta H= energy divided by moles so if moles is smaller, Delta H would be higher thus its invalid. The only valid point was heat loss.
Hoping for 45 :/

It was part of the same question.
Like the first part, we had to name E I think.
The next had to do with the test for the -OH group, if my memory serves me right
The haloalkane one came after this part. Towards the end.

I wrote K2O as well :P

I wrote add potassium IV dichromate and it would change from orange to green :P

Unit 3 yeah? How did you find that paper? I loved the fact that Daphnia came :P

Ugh maybe we get 1/2 ? Cuz everything was balanced and seemed perfect :frown:

Ahhh :P I wrote add phosphorus (v) chloride and misty fumes could be seen :P

yeah i actually found the paper tricky :frown:

I hope so :/
Lets just hope all the other units go well

Incomplete combustion is invalid since this would mean mass of alcohol burnt would be lower thus no. of moles of alcohol would be low. Delta H = Energy divided by moles so lower moles means higher Delta H thus its invalid

arent we supposed to write k2o in the equation... why is it wrong??

yeah i actually found the paper tricky :frown:

Unit 6 is on Friday. I'm more nervous about that :/ I mean, writing that 10 mark answer needs a lot of thinking and stuff
And I do hope for the second question, they don't introduce some new mathematical concept.
