i put because fertilisation is a random process, what about you?

I talked about mutations
I got the multiple choice answers from my teacher and they are correct.
1) B 2) A 3) A 4) D 5)C 6)C 7) A 8) C 9) A 10)B 11)B 12)B 13)C 14)B 15)D 16)B 17)C 18)A 19) D 20) D

as it was outcompeted by the grass

I wrote that the grass was dominant therefore got more space. Is that correct?

this is what I got for the multiple choice;
1) B 2) A 3) B 4) D 5)C 6)C 7)A 8)C 9)A 10) B 11) B 12)C 13) C
14) B 15) D 16)B 17)C 18) A 19)D 20) D

Did anyone get similar

You got 18/20. Well done.
Anyone have a copy of section A they can show me?

30,000 was indeed an option. Option A I believe.

Damn! Silly mistake

What was Q3 again? I think I answered 1)A, 2)A and 3)B, can't really remember the rest. Wish they let us keep the question sheet

Its 1)b 2)a and 3)b, question 3 was about a graph and it was B as it started from 0% increasing to 50% and then decreasing down to 10% thus showing a curve lol

Can you please tell me what question 12 was about?
Original post by M.U.A
That's wrong my science teacher said I got 20/20, as explained previously and by other pupil question 12 is C and question 3 is B, even have a look at it again

Question 12 can't be C as the question asked for an individual phenotype and C is polygenic which means more than one. So it has to be B. Also 3 is A as the further from the root cap the cells dividing decrease. It doesn't increase then decrease like graph B states it does.

Yes, I think so

Okay that's good.

I got to keep the question sheet. It goes 1) B 2) A 3) A

The phenotype is the physical appearance in which we see I.e weight, height, foot length, human skin colour. This is polygenic as their is a measurement between a minimum and a maximums and you said it also said more than one, as on the question it said most features which should have gave you a hint. Also, if it is is polygenic it shows continuous variation this the answer is C. Also, at a distance from 0cm from the root cap the amount of multiplication from the root cap is 0% however, as you start to go further it increases then decreases this being question 3 is B. The line A is a fair try, but it shows a directly proportional decrease and we do not know for certain the distance between these values (50% to 30%) thus we cannot assume their is a directly proportional decrease as if it was the SQA would have told you the distance between each value. If you think question 3 is A and 12 is B well oh well. I can see why you put those answers put I can definitely guarantee they are wrong even ask Prof Darwin.

I got c too for that one, what did you get for photosynthesis one and the specialised cells?

Specialised cells was A) Tissues and Organs because they have a function of some sort, unlike meristems and stem cells which are unspecialized and have the potential to become any type of cell.

I got to keep the question sheet. It goes 1) B 2) A 3) A

Can you send a picture of the question sheet please?
What did everyone get for the question about the yellow plants? I remember it being unclear; you had to fill in three boxes and the first one said "go to 2"
Any ideas?

Yeh can you send me them as well please?
yes if anyone has a copy of the paper can you send it to me too please?
No, it is 12 C because most genes are polygenic and even if it is an individual they can still have polygenic genes like how we have different polygenic genes controlling our height and weight. Plus 3 is B because it started at 0(at the edge of the graph) and then increased before dropping which means it has to be B. Sorry.

What did everyone put for the paired key statement? I honestly had no idea and started laughing to myself

Those things make absolutely no sense to me. I vaguely remember putting "pink campions" for the first one and go to 3 and 4 for the next ones :s-smilie:

Can I get the question sheet too please?

Is anybody picking biology at higher? I wasn't going to but if I get a B (BIG if) I might. I didn't pick anything in that column because I hated them all! If I'm struggling with N5 do you think it's a bad idea to pick higher?
