99% of terrorism is linked to Islam
What's he going to shout 'Happy Christmas'

But rightly the police are being ridiculed for apologising

It's that sort of deference to political correctness, rather than protecting people even if it means making decisions that will outrage the Guardian, that has probably led to them having to carry out such exercises in the first place.

How is not shouting Allahu akhbar in a training exercise putting danger to peoples lives? wtf
I think any simulation should be just that - to simulate the real life situation.

When we had attacks (as in France) in Charlie Hebdo and the November attacks the terrorists shouted Allahu Akbar.

It makes sense to therefore incorporate this phrase into the drill so that everyone involved with protecting people if an event like this should happen again are psychologically and physically prepared.

adds authenticity

something quite important when training scenarios are being created. Such as the very real threat of a terrorist attack on UK soil by a person shouting 'Allahu akhbar'

Did you not learn about this doing your GCSE's?

Social justice warriors are forever telling us that we must let in all refugees, even though they know that there will be terrorists among them, on the basis that our security services have been doing a good job so far of keeping us safe. Yet they'll whine and moan when Muslims (even ones like that guy in the news months back who was loving all things Al Qaeda on social media) are stopped at airports and when police make training exercises realistic like in this case.

It's no wonder nobody takes these idiots seriously.

In other news, GMP to be renamed, "Greater Manchester Cuckstabulary".
Maybe I'm in a minority here & I don't usually stick up for Islam but I don't think it was a particularly smart idea to do it. It seems like you'd be causing friction between Muslims & non-Muslims for no real gain.
That said, I highly doubt it was done to deliberately upset Muslims.

Pehaps next time there is a terrorism exercise the pretend perpetrator can shout one of the following:

Give us back our safe spaces!

or

I told him he was no-platformed!

or

Death to the unoppressed!

just before letting off the firecracker.

Im not questioning the phrase itself, the problem here is it does count as racial stereotype. Im sure explosions and gas can add to the sense of realism, the effectiveness of making it more real by shouting allah akbar is negligible.
By saying Allahu Akbar they say God is Great. And they were wrong to do this because effectively just as ISIS has hijacked our religion, they've hijacked the words "Allahu Akbar". Thus by using this in this "simulation" they're just adding legitimacy to ISIS's use of the words. ISIS serves no God, only themselves so the words are meaningless to them.

What race is Islam then? Is it anything like whiteish, like most Arabs? Or is it brownish like most Pakistanis? Or could it be blackish, like Nigerians? That must be some stereotype!

Does this means that nobody else can use the word "caliphate", or "jihad", or "behead"?

But still adds to the authenticity and you have to agree these training situations where people are practicing to save lives, should be as authentic as possible

As i said, it isnt going to 'save lives', thats a load of rubbish. Shouting and screaming will suffice, along with explosions and gas.
