Is it permissible to use short forms in the exam? (Edexcel)

For example, writing 'XED' instead of 'cross elasticity of demand', or writing down %ΔQD / %ΔP as a formula for PED?

It is a standard abbreviation and for definitions of elasticity the formula counts as a definition mark when relevant

It should be okay, but I recommend writing out the full words instead the first time, then putting the short forms in brackets after. Then if you want to say it again later on, you can just use the short form.

This shows the examiner that you know what the words mean, and that you didn't just memorise the short forms and not know what the words mean.
