Edexcel Unit 1 Biology Higher, thoughts?

My year just finished the Higher B1 Edexcel paper! What's everyone's thoughts?
We all knew that the nitrogen cycle question would come up, right?
I definitely did really well, I revised everything that came up.

YES, especially the 10 marker for ecology, though i got 9 :frown:
In retrospect, yes it was an easy paper. But I lost 3 marks on that maths question about nitrates and probably a few on the last six marker:s-smilie:

I can relate to that... I feel like on the maths question I did ok but the final six marker about natural selection I feel like I didn't write enough for all the marks :frown:
What did you write for the sickle cell/malaria question?

The people that get it in the countries with malaria keep reproducing causing more people with malaria immunity and they purposely don't treat it so malaria doesn't affect them
I didn't realise it was to do with resistance

You had to take the 0.1 median away from the 0.5 median and divide it by 4 because it asked for one week but the graph showed 4 :smile:
That paper was an absolute blessing! I'm really pleased with how well it went :biggrin:

For what molecule helps growth did you put protein. When i came out of the exam some people were saying the answer was nitrogen.

Can remember the number but it was like 24/5 = 6.5

Honestly , it wasn´t that hard. The malaria 3 marker was such a mess, 6 markers where easy but the problem was that they asked for a lot of marks for extremely easy things which you couldn't really talk a lot about. What did you put for the time for the glycogen one. Will the grade boundaries be very high?

Its protein , they use nitrogen compounds such as nitrates to make proteins.
