I reckon I got a C on that paper, Is it still possible to get an A overall by smashing paper 2?

Based on last year's grade boundaries, if you got borderline C in this, then the best you can get is 1 mark from an A overall, and that's if you get 100% in paper 2.
If you got the highest C possible, then you need 51/60 in paper 2 to get an A. Good luck!
