Spoiler

I am actually proud of this because I didn't need to use a dictionary... Sorry for the accents etc but cba

Does anyone else find it funny that AIDS in Spanish is SIDA, HIV is VIH etc...?
I feel like our paper might be used as a transition paper for the new spec... Here is a specimen paper for the new spec which looks exactly like what has been described to me of the French paper bar the 'continue the sentence' one.

Mientras bien, mi profesora es muy perezoso y muy antisimpatico. También, ella es muy molesto porque ella crea que ella es muy gracioso pero ella es no y que es divertidísimo. Me gustaría estudiar matemáticas, química, biología y literatura inglesa (is that how you say it?) en '6th form' porque es mi ambición trabajador como un medica. ¿y tu?
Excuse the grammatical incorrectness... I haven't really done Spanish writing since year 10!

Hiya! Who else is pumped and ready for the AQA GCSE Spanish exam on the 20th May? Apparently the AQA French Listening exam changed format to around 27 questions with longer speaking extracts... #daunting
Anyway, lets get ready for the end of our GCSE Spanish careers!

Here are some links to past papers: http://www.aqa.org.uk/subjects/languages/gcse/spanish-4695/past-papers-and-mark-schemes

I did French Listening today and I have Spanish Listening on Friday, it's true that the exams were awful, usually I can cope OK with listening but this one went to ****. Usually there are 1-2 developed sections where you write your own answers instead of multiple choice but this year there were 4. If Spanish goes this way then I'm screwed :h:

I'm also doing both next year in college lol I'm screwed
i worked out my ums points on the aqa website using last years grading and i have 290 points

writing:
B- 70 ums points
A- 80 ums points
speaking
B- 70 ums points
B- 70 ums points

I used this and got 80UMS for an entire unit as 27 marks = 40 UMS marks... FML 81 UMS is an A*!!!!

I got 88 UMS for speaking though so one mark from that would get me at a mid A* in terms of coursework

Yo tambien!! Buena suerte x espero que es mas facil que el examen de frances!
Yo me preocupo por las examenes este vierne, consigue un A*. I have just done my last set of vocabulary to which I am learning before Friday. On Thursday, do you guys have any suggestions as to what I should do? I will be going over grammar, specifically on how they will sound like during the listening exams as well that I will do lots of quizzes. Is it efficient for me to go back to all my vocabulary sets from past months or just do quizzes on memrise? I have an unorthodox way of learning vocabulary, managed to get A in reading during mocks back in Feb and a B/C for listening. From then I have worked extremely hard. I am hoping that I have secured that A*.

One can only hope.

How have you guys prepared? Bueno/a suerte a todos!

I do French + Spanish and I definitely think that's what they're doing! some of the questions were so weird and even the front cover had a different layout! + they're including more relevant, current issues

Your numbers are definately incorrect - from a total of 300 UMS, 90 are for writing, your two best coursework pieces, 90 are for speaking, your two best pieces, 60 are for reading and 60 are for listening. You need a combined total UMS score of 270 out of a possible 300 for an overall A star, 240 for an A and 210 for a B, 180 for C etc. Those grades of B and C wouldn't give UMS numbers that high, sorry.

I havent seen the french test because i did my french gcse last year when it was easy haha but im hoping that spanish isn't too different from last year - they cant introduce new vocabulary yet, right, despite the apparent changes in biology yesterday lol

I'm also doing spanish gcse next year, probably what im looking forward to the most
