the horrible integral being in 12ths and having a bajillion minuses :s-smilie:

Funny how it turns out that the integrating part is easy and the basic common denominator multiplication is hardest. I hated all those minuses!
How was that the equation of the circle of the centre was (5,-3)??

Radius = root65

eqn of circle is (y+3)^2, not +2 as you wrote up there

I'm pretty sure it asked for the RHS of the equation in the form k and not k^2, so it should have been left as 65

And thank you! Typo aha

Yeap, I got that as well

I messed up on the first question of circles... they should have said point A lies on the circle not pass -__-
Also that integration section was tricky... my answers/working out was very messy.

Anyone get 11.25 for Area of the shaded reigon?
Did anyone get a fraction for the x coordinate in the integration question near the end?

Felt like this was the hardest paper so far, I missed out like 4 questions...

Me and some friends got the radius to be root 34 not 65.

What were your critical values for the final inequality question?

I think i got x = -1.5 , x = 6 and ended up with x < -.1.5 , x> 6

Yes I got that too, but I left it as 45/4 in case I converted it to decimal incorrectly. I would have been right but I think they'll accept it as a fraction.

Yes, you're right! I'm just saying that the radius is root65, but in the equation, it's r^2, so therefore it's 65 :h:

No problem

I got root 34 for the radius as well.. I'm so confused.. The centre of the circle was given as (5,-3) so (x-5)^2 + (y+3)^2 = 25+9 .....

Do you guys reckon the grade boundaries will be lower than 2015?

what did you guys get for the translation? (0.5 , - 41/4) ?

I wasn't sure so I put translation through (0.5, ?)
I think I would get 2/3 marks
