last answer was k<-7.5 right? and what about the second to last question was stuck on that for ages, I ended up getting 3-+root21/2 or something for x but couldn't figure out how to get y

I got -7.5 and 3+-root21/2 as well - I just added 3 to each one to get y
Original post by Grindle97
I got the same as that apart from for 4 where i got y=22/7

Yes i got 22/7 as well
For 11ii ) With regards to the coordinates of the intersection points for 2x^2 -5x -3 and x+3
I did the following

2x^2 -6x -6 = 0

Then for the X coordinates i used the formula to give (6 +/- root 84) /4
would that get any marks, i forgot to divide through by 2.

Thanks

I'm just going to list my answers to see if people agree with them.... (They may not be in the exact order and I may have fOr gotten some, but I will try and write down the question bit too)
1. 3^0= 1
9^3/2 =27
(4/5)^-2= 25/16
2. (1-2x)/4>3 = x>-11/2
3. (5c^2d)^3 / (2c^4)/ d^5 = 250c^10d^-2

4. One with intercepts of two lines x=9/7 and y=22/9
5. Root 50 + 2root8= 11root2

ii. Other surds question= 2+root3

6.
Remainder of f(2) is 11 remainder of (x+1) is 11 f(x)= x^3+ax+c
A=-2 and c=7

7. Expand (1-5x)^4
1-20x+150x^2- 500x^3 + 625x^4

8. Find minimum and then Sketch graph of (x-2)^2=9
Minimum at (2,-9)
Crosses x axis at -1 and 5 and y axis at -5

I think 4 should be x = 9/7 and x = 22/7

Also could someone do this for Section B?
Does anyone think that the grade boundaries might be slightly lower than usual? :s-smilie:

2 and -1/2 ?

Yeah I got 2 and -1/2

You have got question 1ii wrong it was + or - 27

no it was 27

Yeah I reckon they will be around 57/58 for an A.

I was resitting this and still found certain parts tricky.
On the last question i got k > 3/2
6^2 - (4x3(3+k)) < 0
36 - 24 - 8k < 0
12 -8k < 0
k > 12/8 simplified to 3/2?
How did everyone do the remainder question? My answers were completely wrong

k > 12/8 simplified to 3/2?

It was 36--24 +8k <0
So k<-60/8

no it was 27

9^(3/2)=9^(1/2))^3 and 9^1/2 can be + or - 3

The collaboration isn't exactly going well :s-smilie:

I got that but also did an stupid working out error and got k< -60/8 and k>-60/8 will is till get most of the marks for correct workings

Anyone get a copy of the google docs mark scheme before it got raided?

who got 4y=3x+22?
Original post by aaaargggi

The last part of the full equation was -3-k, i took out the minus so i got -(3+k) so c=3+k not -3-k
Did anyone get an answer like (x+4 root 3) ?
