How many marks was 10c worth?

5 i think
Does anyone remember roughly how many marks for each question? And who can roughly guess how many marks for a C this year?
Original post by Turtlebunny
What were the answers to 6?

Was it 5-4k for a1, as well as 5-5k+4k^2 for a3.

Then was part b the one where you had to find the sum of the first three terms?

I got 4k^2-9k+17

Then the last one was 500?

I have a feeling I'm missing something here.

How did you get 4k^2-9k+17. I got 4k^2-9k+14

i literally did 4+5-4k+5-5k+4k^2

Can you please explain how you got 6b

EDEXCEL C1:
Q1) 2/5X^3-8X^1/2+3X+C
Q2) y=6X+2
Q3)a) 2root 2
b) 3root 6
Q4a) stretch in y-direction by scale factor 3.
b) translate by vector (0,-4) (downwards)
Q5) X=-1/7 ; Y= -1/3 X=-3/7 ; Y=1/3
Q6)a) A2= 5-4K A3= 5-5K+4K^2
B) 4K^2-9k+1
C)I) I forgot to do again lol
C)II) 500 (OMFG WAT WAS THIS?!)
Q7)dy/dx= 6X+2X^-2/3+X^1/2+7/6(X^3/2)
Q8)a) proof of inequality- had to substitute the 2 equations and the discriminant<0
b) 1/2<P<9/2
Q9)a) £225
b) £180
c) £1710
d) 18 years from 10 years old so 27 years old
Q10)a) 5Y+3X-44=0 b) R: (44/3,0) c) area of Quad: 76 units (this proved extremely difficult when splitting into 2 triangles, so I split in 2 triangles and a rectangle)
Q11)a) dy/dx= 6X^2+2KX+5
b) K=41/8=5.125
c) y co-ordinate- 49/2
D) 2y-17x-83=0

give the correct answer if any of these are wrong and ill edit it

I got Q10 c) area = 163/3
Q11c) 1/2
d) 2y-17x-35=0

Well I doubt a lot of people would have got full marks in the paper to say the least!! Can't tell though, but I reckon they will have to be significantly lower.

More or less everyone appears to have cocked up, so UMS will probably be generous... June 2009 was 70/75 for 100.

Yaaaaaaay ur wet
On Q5 i think you got X and Y mixed up, X=-1/3 Y=1/3, X=-1/7 Y=-3/7

That was a tough paper no question. here are some of the answers I got, that my memory can recall. Feel free to share any you remember before the unofficial one is released  I feel like I have done worse than expected

Q1. Typical integration question - should be fine as long as you remember the +C
Q2. 3^6x + 2 : I nearly messed up on that one yikes!!
Q3. 5root2 - 3root2 leaving 2root2
I then got 3root6 - you ended up with 24root6 over 8
Q4.
Q5. Not a fan of this one at all. 5-K and a quadratic - my memory is slacking!!
The one marker was 500 - you got 5 each time - I guessed this one and got it wrong.
The hell of a quadrilateral I got 326/6 which you could simplify to 163/3 units^2. I split it into a triangle and trapezium. The fact that R was 44/3,0 is just cruel.
You got this from the equation 3x - 4y -44 = 0 or again something similar to that. Y = 0 at point R so 3x=44 therefore X = 44/3
The value of K was also awful - I got 41/8 via equating the gradient function to the gradient of the line being 17/2. Again, nasty nasty numbers.
Y= 1/2 when X = -2
17x -2y + 35 = 0 is what I got for tangent equation.

There was quite a challenging discriminate one. You had to make then 2 equations equal one another, and you get values of:
A= 2P, B = -6p-3 and C = 3p-7 or something similar.
When solving it, I got P > 1/2 and P< 9/2

I got John to be 27 as (n-18)(n+25)
Total money on his birthday something like £1050?

The differentiation one was alright for the most part but I've probably messed up on it. The powers were harsh - can't remember it perfectly.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong and share answers if you want. It's just a rough guide of stuff, hopefully the official one will be out soon to stop us all worrying!

I got 1/2 < p < 9/2 . Hope you're wrong there!

The surds one, was that supposed to be in terms of root(6)? ****!

how many marks for 9c???/
Original post by TrueDAN
Damn you have a good memory. That's sick!
For 9C i got £1050 but I may have messed up on it.
For 11 C and D I got the Y to equal 1/2 and D I got 17x-2y + 35 =0 so again I may have messed up.
For 10c : I am pretty sure that it is 162/3 units^2 and not 76 via splitting it into a trapezium and triangle.
I agree with the simultaneous equations - I definitely got answers like that.
Thanks for remembering Q11 A I agree with that and they for the rest I got the same!

I got the same as you for 11 C and D
However for 9C i got £1710

How low do you think they will make the boundaries? Questions 9-11 were so tricky for me, this is so demoralising.
