Spoiler

Hopefully this paper will be better than C1 since I have my beloved calculator
Any ideas on how I can prepare for this, past papers obviously but I want to be prepared for those curveballs they throw at us.

Try some EDEXCEL solomon papers. All content is the same, but AQA are moving more towards EDEXCEL style questions. You will find them a lot more challenging than AQA.

the solomon papers, are different to the AQA lay out, even the content is different it includes things that we have already done in core 1 like circles.. ?

Yes - some topics for AQA and Edexcel's overlap, and there are a few more questions. But if you want a more difficult paper to do, as you have done most of AQAs (all the way back to 2005) they are certainly a great tool. If you want to ignore the circles and polynomial questions then do so.

Yes, they are harder. My method for core 1 was:

1. Do all 20 AQA papers. If I found a difficult question, ask friends/teachers.
2. Do solomon papers. They highlighted specific areas which I wasn't able to do when it came to the most difficult questions.
3. I then finally used the following link to clue-up on these topics, and make sure I was confident.

fairs, reckon this year c2 might be tricky, hopefully its not as difficult as its been in some previous years.
just wondered, could optimisation come up this year? for C2 ?

id say theres a 50% chance to be honest
You may want to try here for extra support with Core 2 http://www.mathedup.co.uk/a-level-takeaways/core-takeaway/
Who's pumped for tomorrow???
Also has anyone seen how low the grade boundaries were for Core 2 June 2012??? 51 A and 61 for 100UMS
Issue is lower grade boundaries usually mean harder questions so that may not necessarily be a great thing. It'll help a lot yeah, but not guaranteed to get you your target.
