How was Paper 1C ? btw unofficial mark scheme of Paper 1C is released


I found it OK, most of it was doable but I am slowly starting to realise all the mistakes I made especially after looking at the unofficial markscheme. Thanks for telling me about it. Have you done paper 1CR, if you did how was it?

I have been always good in Chem, once scored 96 too in school exam. But i did alot of silly mistakes and and paper was kinda tricky and experiments questions were really difficult. Not expecting good grade if i dont do good in Paper 2CR


I really struggle with calculations and I am dreading paper 2C. I definitely preferred Bio.

Why in Solution 1 why not in Solution 2 ?

Which 2 reactions are REDOX ?

Can some 1 answer these question for me ?

Why in Solution 1 why not in Solution 2 ?

I wrote Reaction 4 and 6 are redox ( not sure)
and about effervescence I wrote that Hcl dissolved in water has free ions,whereas methylbenzene doesn't. So there is an ionic interaction and a gas forms

and i pretty much screwed in the effervescence question :/ Pretty sure gonna score 0 or 1 in that answer out of -_-

1-no gas comes out as there is enough solution for the gas to dissolve in.
2- it went below the reactant line

Solubility question was easy just messed up with ( Ethene section ) in solubility.

And in Enthalpy change i didn't draw the product .. #rip
It was normal curved exothermic graph. but i forgot to draw the product line -_- :/

Don't remember the REDOX question but
Effervescence was in solution one because the hydrogen and chloride ions dissociate in the water to form hydrochloric acid. Hence the reaction of metal. It doesn't dissociate in methylbenzene though

I ticked the 1 2 5 th boxes. And i did 1.3/6 for the last one

Yeah same, I wrote 3 and 4. I showed it by showing the ionic equations...
