Why should we vote to stay in and let the EU represent us when we are under-represented within the EU? The UK has a MEP to population figure of around 1:850000 (give or take a few hundred), this is the second highest figure within the EU. This is against the basic principles of democracy, each MEP should represent the same number of people.

Eddie - do you think that, particularly as talks are ongoing between the EU and US over TTIP, the NHS will eventually become privatised. What are your views on this?

Eddie is visiting Aston University on Monday and he will be logging on to TSR to chat with the community ahead of the EU referendum (time TBC).

Eddie Izzard strongly believes that Britain should fight for our right to remain in Europe.

On 23 May, Eddie will launch Stand Up For Europe, his campaign to encourage people of all ages across the UK to register and vote IN.

You are invited to put your questions to Eddie around voting and the EU referendum.

Don't miss out, post below to be involved  (Even if you don't think you're going to vote in the referendum, see if Eddie can persuade you!)

In the interests of balance, will you be inviting an individual supporting Brexit to answer questions on the site?

The E.U. is great as it can encourage our businesses to thrive but is it worth it if we are spending so much money on it?

EU regulations were placed on steel manufacturing to try and remove Chinese steel from the market (arbritrary standards, tarrifs etc), but it just got in the way of domestic steel manufacturing and we still lost out.

Fishing industries are because the rest of the EU voted to fish our natural reserves. We had to downscale our fishing industry as a result. Hell, just look at what it did to North and South shields. Sucked the soul out of that place.
as a 15 year old, how does this affect me/ should i be taking an interest in it?
Mr Izzard,
How can you want to remain in the EU?
When we voted to join the EU many years ago, it was purely based on trade and nothing else. Years of politicans have now given away our freedoms to the EU bureaucrats.

Why do you object to our wonderful United Kingdom having sovereignty as a democratic country?
Our laws can be overruled by the EU "courts" and bureaucrats - we didnt elect them! We had to fight EU supreme courts to deport Abu Qtada! We are handing away our powers to make and uphold laws to people in Europe that we don't know and who want us to become a Federal States of Europe!

And migration: while in the EU we have no actual control over our borders! Sure, controlled immigration is a huge benefit to this country, but we are a small island and we can only fit so many people. If we left the EU we could have a fair, points based system that let in a quota of people each year. Besides which - in the not too distant future, Turkey is looking to join the EU. That's millions more people that can come here from a country that borders Syria!!

Surely the fact that our government has no actual control over our country must take precedence over some economic deals? Even if we went into a recession (and we won't) because of leaving the EU, surely that would be better than Angela Merkel and Donald Tusk ruling over our government?

Also, where is our Vote Leave questions and answers candidate...? Or bias.

Do you think that 16 and 17 year olds should be able to vote in the referendum?

we give millions of pounds to this organisation a week (ignoring the over used argument about how could we spend this money etc) do you think its right that the EUs independent auditor has found theres a 5% discrepancy with the books each year, meaning the unelected european commissioners are completely corrupt and taking our tax payers money !!!!
Why should we care what some irrelevant guy thinks? You might as well ask any random guy on the street.

The EU were proposing tariffs to protect steel, the Tories and UKIP blocked it.
