Then again we're also doing Further Maths A2 (I suppose you are as you have M3), unlike most students are doing this for their first year.

True.

I'm still surprised that so many people didn't realise: p41=(p2+1)(p21) p^4 - 1 = (p^2 + 1)(p^2 - 1)

I had it wrong at first, I had p^4 + 1, then realised they must cancel, turned out I had made a mistake with my expansion, but corrected it in time.

-(((( Describe the tranformation, I dont know why its rotating anti clockwise 50 and I dont know how I came up with that answer and wrote it down T_T the last question to find x coordinate of M =.= I made EXTREMELY STUPID MISTAKE when Xm = (-5/p + 5p + 5p )/2 = -5/p + 5p =.= STUPID MISTAKE shoud be -5/2p T_T and it ruined my answer its 3 mark question so Can I have any mark method mark? losing at least 3 up to 4 marks at the moment. Havent seen anything wrong with the rest

Anti clockwise of 135 I put. P was -3 and q -9 I think.
i dont remember anything about parallel chords ???? but i do remember finding the tangents of the 2 chords were perpendicular because it asks you to find the value of pq (which i got as -1) and then you ended up showing that (1/p) x (1/q) = -1
... or at least, thats what i did lmao rip my hopes for an A

edit: 1/p and 1/q were the gradients i got for the tangents btw
How did you prove the chord equation? Di you use y2-y1/x2-X1 for the gradient and the mx+c? I couldn't prove it :frown: tbf I struggled with th majority of that paper
What did everyone get for 10d?
What did most people get for the value of a?

What did most people get for the value of a?

uh if this is for the complex numbers question then i got -1 !!!

In that question ....

you were told z^2 + 2z ....it was real... so there was no imaginery part... so the equation was equal to 0

As the imaginary part was 4a + 4 = 0 hence a =-1

I have to say im slightly disappointed in my performance. Probably lost 10-12 marks, I guess the pressure got to me and didnt think straight. Oh well, if I get an A i'll be happy as I tried my hardest.

10-12 would still be above 80UMS, dont worry bro
