Is new maths syllabus beginning in September 2017? Or does it begin in 2016 and exams are taken 2017?

The specifications will not be submitted to Ofqual for approval until June 2016 so this information is not in the public domain.

Likely to be both so that a pathway of taking Maths in Year 12 and FM in Year 13 is still available.

The statistics component is a mix of S1 and S2 but it is likely to be examined in the same paper as pure maths.

I wondered if that would be the case and was surprised to see the .gov.uk site is saying first A level results in 2019 for maths and FM.

As you said, All will be made clear in the specifications when they finally appear.
