For the rms voltage over the heating element i ended getting 229.5V as 0.5v lost to resistance of wires, got a current of about 19A.

Pretty sure i messed up somewhere :frown:

I think I got 228V so you can't be far off surely? I'm sure they'll be method marks though!

I got that at first but im pretty sure u had to use 230V rms instead of the peak voltage so i got 4410 2nd time round

Yeah, you have to use 230

I did the exact same thing as you

but the question said find the power not average power or did I misread the question? I will be gutted if I did lol
Did anyone get about 86ohms for last internal resistance question :/
I got the exact same. I assumed the wires were in parallel.

Glad to hear someone else got 228 too. That's what I got

I got 229.5v as well but the mucked up the next one and got like 2200000w or something ahaha

There's another resit PHYA1 in June 2017.

How come?
Did the particle question explicitly say that it was via the weak interaction.

which question did yo guys get 4400 and how? I got 8800 on the first power question

I got 8800 for the first one too !

No. Got something different. That seems too high for internal resistance
What did everyone get for the last question?
I got 3.4(3) ohms

I suppose that means it probably is... Well hopefully!

I got 3.6

Yes!
Same here
ayyy, sounds like the heater question screwed everyone over, I'm glad I'm not alone

You woulve been right if they asked the max power output but i think they just asked the normal power output

For those who started AS in September 2014 and are resitting Year 13.

Oh dear :/ how many marks was that question then???
