i read the sentence quite a lot i reckon they would give you a mark for pret or imperfect version

Because they came into fashion and it wasn't a continuous action. I'm not really sure how to explain it, it's what I put and my teacher said it was correct. They might give both preterite and imperfect as correct though, I think most other people at my school put ponían

I think it needed to be pusieron as it was referring to los pantalones.

June 2013 has had the lowest grade boundaries so far with 87/88 for a year. Did that as a practice exam last night and I'd say it was a very similar structure as today's paper! So I'd say grade boundaries would be similar
