The paper wasn't that bad guyss I thought the methods in context was super generous and gender differences there was loaaads you could talk about and the hell is everyone saying about email?? I swear its postal I've never even heard of emailed questionnaires...

I 100% agree with you!! Don't know where people think up these things about 'email questionnaires' having never been taught about them in AS why would it appear on the syllabus!? People need to stop panicking to themselves about useless stuff. . .

What were you supposed to evaluate against? Boys vs girs?
My teacher said you were supposed to like say coursework may have contributed to the gender gap but exams are still the major bulk of the final examination therefore...blah blah blah

Start off with the National Curriculum being introduced in '88 and the effect it had on GCSE, A Level and Vocational subjects..

Then it was basically a free for all in all honesty.. Coursework gives an advantage to girls as they spend more time with it making it presentable and what have you then AO2 it by saying that c/work doesn't amount to that much of an overall grade. Then go on to how teachers positively label girls and tell boys off for being loud and dominant etc and then a big link back to Early Socialisation. . .

That coursework thing was literally my only evaluation for that question oops :colondollar:

Oh well, I'm just glad that exam is done now, I can focus on everything else

SOAS hopefully to do law
They have been in clearing for the last couples of years and they do lower the grades slightly but who knows what they will do this year lol

Guys I need some help/advice/reassurance please. Basically I got a D last year in AS sociology (109 UMS
120 is a C) due to a lot of health problems during the year, this year I've had 4 surgeries and my health problems are still prominent. I resat both family last week and education today, In the family paper last week I answered everything quite well except the family diversity and the functions being lost essay (the last 24 marker) as I forgot everything I wrote a few paragraphs about functionalism and the functions they think the family gives so likes sexual, economic, education and reproductive and then I explained about how them functions won't be fulfilled properly and socialisation won't be done right due to family diversity. I then wrote one paragraph about postmodernism and how they think it's good due to choice and negotiated family. So overall about 2/3 paragraphs. In the education paper today, I did methods first and that went well.and methods in content which went really well I was quite chuffed with that. Then 2&6 on education went fine, then on the 12 I completley forgot everything and I wrote 3 paragraphs about labelling? marketisation and ethnocentric curriculum ,not in that much detail and included about Becker, David and I can't remember the others. The 24 marker, all what I wrote about was girls internal and external achievement, I couldn't write a single word about boys achievement as I forgot the main processes etc. But I wrote a conclusion and intro with some facts in.

With how 'little' I wrote, is it possible in them 2 exams to get that D up to a C or have I completley messed up? I need a C for uni overall and based on UMS I need at least 2 B's in the A2 exams. Is it all too much too late? Is there any chance I can get into university now? I've got exam consideration where I get 4% of my marks extra added (i didn't have this last year) And my exams concessions such as extra time, reader, computer etc.

Found the education part really nice, the 6 marker, 12 marker and 20 marker were literally the three main sections of my revision and the ones my teacher went over last Friday so I got really lucky. The mailed questionnaires threw me right off, we'd only briefly covered them in class, and I'm not sure if I evaluated it enough (though it only asked for problems which weirded me out?) for 20 marks.

Surely it wouldn't be about emailed questionnaires?? Though I did (somehow, in the panic of the exam hall) compare posted questionnaires to online ones and I'm not sure if that was a weirdly good idea or just a weird idea...

Concentrate on A2. They are more important. No going back now. Do really well in A2 and you can get an A or B
