HELP!!! is only doing 7 gcse's a mistake???

Hi,
I am currently been homeschooled and am studying for my GCSE's in 2017. When I was at school I was classed a high ability student (I got the highest score in end of KS3 tests for maths I got 89% on the level 6-8) but I was never pushed at school or even taught anything above about level 6. So in other words I've got potential.
My Mum has decided that I should only do 7 GCSE's as I am studying them in only one year. Is this a mistake???
I am doing
IGCSE English lit
IGCSE English language
GCSE Maths
IGCSE Biology
IGCSE Physics
IGCSE Chemistry
GCSE RE
Has any one got an idea on how I could study French??
I would love to become a doctor however I have been told I may have Asperger's. I think my communication skills are very good however when I am not feeling anxious; I have a Saturday Job teaching at a catch up school for dyslexic kids.Does this mean that there is no way I can do this??
Thanks

7 should be fine, obviously most people do more like 9 or 10, but seeing you're homeschooled and are doing them in one year, it should be fine, especially if you get amazing grades (which it sounds like you could ).

I don't know about French, sorry, though obviously there are websites like duolingo and so to learn it without getting a qualification if that's what you want

Good luck

I think you'll be fine
Just make sure you do well! 7 GCSEs is enough to get into any college and any university and like you said, you have potential so potentially your grades will be very good! Good luck!
