How many marks would I lose if I found x but didn't find P😤😤

Not too many, maybe 1 or 2 at a guess?

arsey where u at

Apparently arsey isn't posting this time?! 😨

I did the same and looking at past papers it's 2 marks lost. 1 was for substituting x and one is for getting the correct answer.
It's so annoying that edexcel won't allow the exam solutions to be posted online. It's stupid, people discuss answers anyway. It just feels like they're sulking because people keep complaining and this is there way of getting 'revenge'
Am I the only one who got a p=121m and x=14.something?
I did the same! So frustrated at myself

i got that but its wrong, don't know how many marks we will loose :3

It was out of 5 marks so I think we'll lose 2 accuracy marks.

do you think we will lose the marks for e) and proving it was a min point?

x was 16.6339... which = 17, then you had to sub it into P to get P = 120
Was there a question 10????
Original post by ollyhermann
perimiter 120, x was 17

I got the same 😋

What did you guys get for question 10?

There was no question 10!
question nine was a middle finger from edexcel

I think I got 16.something, then I subbed it back into the P formula to get the minimum value of P, that sound about right?

I got 16.4 something and rounded it to the nearest metre of 16m as it was below 16.5?

The value of X was meant to be subbed back into the formula for P giving you 120m not 16

Grade boundaries will be high I reckon, was a 'easier' paper, I think I dropped about 4 marks(at a push) and the majority of that was the the show that, I can't remember much but stuff like k=7/2 and B was nine hundred and something b=1/9a-5/9 the other logs question X= -2.19 and 0/no solutions, sinx= 1/4 or 2(no solutions) and solve and minimum perimeter is like 120m or something once you solve dP/dX and X= 16.6 something, radius of circle is sqrt 34 and I can't recall much more

I got B = 936 I, b=(a-5)/9, sinx = - 1/4, and the rest the same as you.

I don't think we will lose any marks because one mark is for differentiating correctly and subbing in our value of x and the other mark is for saying its >0 so it's a minimum.

Yeah that's what I did :P I only did a, d & e on question 9 - The show questions were too difficult for me. How did you find them?
