I got that aswel!!! But apparently its b = (a-5)/9 :/

yeah that's the same thing, just with a common denominator

Do you mean 68/75 marks for an A??? That would be very high wouldnt it? Or is that UMS?

That's weird because I got the c1 mark scheme the day of the exam, I don't mean the actual mark scheme I mean one a teacher has done

Unfortunately Arsey, who releases these unofficial mark schemes, posted earlier he will not continue to release theme as Edexcel do not which for any unofficial mark scheme to be viewed online. However these answers here seem correct enough.
what do you reckon 90 ums is going to be as a raw mark???

would you get all the marks if you left it as a=9b+5
Original post by richpanda
i got -2.19.

anyone get 9b+5 for a in terms of b?

Yes I got -2.19 and I also got 9b + 5 for a in terms of b but the question asked for b in terms of a.

Guys wasn't part a of Q9 = 1/3pi(x^2)????

because the sector area is 1/2r^2(theta)
which is 1/2(x^2)(2/3pi)

= 2/6pi(x^2)
= 1/3pi(x^2)
??

Yeh I agree
My guess at boundaries:

Full UMS - 74
90 UMS - 69
80 UMS - 63 A
70 UMS - 54 B
how did you get -2/15pi
Original post by izrael25
how did you get -2/15pi

When you rearranged you got cos(theta - pi/5) = 1/2

Cos-1(1/2) = pi/3, -pi < theta < pi

So solutions were pi/3, -pi/3

but then you had to add pi/5 to get the right solutions of 8/15 pi and -2/15 pi
Arsey where you at?

It depends on where they allocate marks, if its A1 (answer) marks it has to be the correct answer so you would drop one mark on showing its a minimum but they coule put ECF. I imagine you will lose 2/3 marks on d) because 2/3 marks will be A1/2/3 marks, perhaps 2 for differentiation correctly and another for the correct final answer. If you are lucky you will drop 3 marks if not it could be 4/5

Thank you! I think I got in the region of 69-71, so happy with that.

For the binomial my friend and I got B = -1008?

Same

Im not sure if you are joking, thats the same thing just expanded

i got -2.19.

anyone get 9b+5 for a in terms of b?

wasn't it b in terms of a??!!
Original post by Ekssss_
Same

It was 1944 - 1008 to get 936. Perhaps a method mark for finding 1008 though.

i forgot about the -1/3pi
