Bradford university malik halls

Hi has anyone stayed or is currently staying or applying to malik halls just wanted some informatiom and possible reviews

Posted from TSR Mobile
I'v heard a lot about Malik Halls, they've got a bad reputation in terms of the mice and noise. There's a brand new Accommodation that's going to be ready for this coming September. I'v out a deposit down its beautiful and not like the normal en-suits.

There's a lot of own space. Check it out Sunbridge Halls its more up market not like the cheap stuff that the Uni offers. £115 per week and you also get a mini IPAD when you sign up!!::biggrin:

Had a friend who lived in Malik who was left with no electricity for 3 days. They're nice halls and really close to campus, but i've heard mixed reviews. I would stay in Arkwright, Forster or the green.

Stay away from malik halls i lived there for 2 years its a nightmare they wont give you your deposit back in time they will make up charges so they can hold onto your deposit, they have a habit of turning off the heating in winter sometimes and if you need something sorting out be prepared to wait for 4-6 weeks they are a bunch of knobheads.

Yup, Malik 'crappy' Halls!
The main building, on the top floor, supposedly with the "bigger rooms".
Please, for the love of god, do not move there! I wish someone had warned me! :frown:
I recently had good experience at Malik Halls. My room is amazing and large there was a few little problems but where fixed as soon as I mentioned them. The staff are really friendly and easy to get along with. Its in a great location right opposite uni entrance. I recommend booking it

You could move into my room in the Green? Im moving to Leeds for work and it makes sense me living there due to my few lectures, would you be interested?

I heard it's not that bad. The rooms are the exact same size as the ones you get in the green, but you're paying half of what you'd be paying at the Green. Ofcourse it's not gonna be as pretty as the green, but you gotta sacrifice a few things if you want something cheap .

I really don't recommend it. I stayed there for a couple of months last year and even though its relatively cheap:
you NEVER get your deposit back
rooms are small
internet worked for about 20% of the time
the kitchen was completely unusable
the drains in the 0.5 m squared bathroom were blocked....
I mean, I wouldn't go back there even if the cost went down to a half! You can get something better for pretty much the same price.

don't touch Malik with a barge pole
Unipol kicked them off the approved list and if you get kicked off by unipol you've really screwed up

Hey, im thinking of moving into sunbridge in september could you tell me a little bit about how it was for you?
Hi all, just thought I'd quickly contribute to this thread with information about our on-site Student Accommodation. I also just want to let you all know that if any of you have any specific queries relating to the University of Bradford please feel free to PM or post below; happy to help!

The majority of our first year Undergraduate students stay at The Green Accommodation. Opened in 2011, The Green is a purpose-built student village at the City Campus, putting students right at the heart of the University’s academic studies, student facilities, support services and social activities. The Green provides a hugely welcoming and sociable environment for students living away from home for the first time, getting your university journey off to the perfect start.

The buildings are arranged as a small village, with rooms available either in apartments with six en-suite bedrooms or 12-bedroom townhouses. At the centre of the village is 'The Orchard' which is central hub building that has the Accommodation and Management office and laundrette. The Orchard overlooks a biodiversity pond and offers a host of places to meet, socialise and relax within its attractive landscaped gardens.

There is a real sense of community. We have a social community scheme called the Green Associations, which is run by the Green Ambassadors. The idea is to organise a series of events which are both fun and interesting, but that also bring everyone together so that everybody living at The Green feels part of the community. So far this year we’ve had dodgeball, the cleanest kitchen competition, a rap competition, and we’re now planning a sports day and a cooking competition.

Further information about our Student Accommodation can be found on our website at http://www.bradford.ac.uk/student/accommodation/ I would also encourage you to view the following video to get a more real feel for the village and accommodation: http://bit.ly/1vg34W2 Hope this information helps!

I hope you find this information helpful and if any of you would like any further assistance with anything at all please do get in touch.
