I can't remember my answer but i believe for that question you do the reverse of you do when you're finding the midpoint, as they were asking for the end point or something. So times the midpoint by 2 and then subtract form the other endpoint.

But why would they say simplify if you didn't actually had to simplify. Are you denying that 25(4-pi) is the simplest form of 100-25pi..?

I am. The maths term for that is factorise not simplify!

I did the foundation paper. I wonder when Mr M will publish the mark scheme for both higher and foundation. I think I did alright overall. Definitely enough to get into the 70+ marks bracket.

The large triangle was 1/2*√2/2*√2/2 = 2/8 = 1/4

The small triangle was 1/2*√3/3*√2/2= √6/12

Large triangle - Small triangle = gray area

1/4 - √6/12 is equivalent to (3 - √6)/12
