"World leaders rattled by Trump"

President Obama said this from Japan during the G7 Summit (Link)

Trump has responded by saying, "When you rattle someone that's good." (Link)

Does Trump have a point?

The U.S. has provided a disproportionate amount of wealth, influence, and military might to the interests of the western world. This arraignment was once appreciated and applauded by America's allies, because it was needed to counter the Soviet threat. Then the Iron Curtain fell, and U.S. policy continued in a direction that often defied and annoyed those same allies. The appreciation and applause has mostly ceased, but the disproportionate contributions continue. Is it not possible that everyday Americans could benefit from leveraging their nations influence, to "rattle" those who wish to diminish that influence?

78% of those surveyed in U.S. allied countries think Trump's view make the world less safe (Link). Perhaps those 78% should show some appreciation to America, if they want American views to make the world more safe.

Yes and no.
When you rattle an enemy, or someone you're trying to get the upper hand over, it's good. You're leaving them wrong footed.

When you rattle a friend, you're not helping yourself.

In my opinion yes
He encourages violence in his rally's, he alienates entire races- eg- Mexicans.
He seems to know nothing of international relations, he is not a politician, his solutions to problems are ignorant.
Of course they're rattled this guy is the republican nominee!
I was hoping for Bernie to be elected as democrat candidate but unfortunately, Clinton leads the polls and the primaries so I know my hope is unrealistic. :frown:

He wants everyone to pay their way and that frightens a lot of leaders but then Trump forgets Japan is under occupation by America who have their military bases there. Many Japanese do not want those there, but the governments bow to Washington..

What about rattling a friend that is taking you for granted?

Judging about how obsessed lefties are with identity politics, I would say a racial hierarchy is at the core of their beliefs. Most right wingers these days couldn't give a damn about race.

Sure, because right wingers always start a sentence with " i am not racist but < insert something here>" as as self declaration that they are not racist, so they must be not racist.

Yes because Bernie fans aren't violent.
From what I have saw it is the anti-trump protesters who are violent

Do they? I don't know your experience but seems an awful lot like a generalisation on your part. The left is ALWAYS the first to bring race into a conversation, by either screaming "RACIST" or "YOU'RE A F***ING WHITE MALE!!!111oneoneeleven"

Because left wingers can't be racist? We constantly see how wrong this is these days

so tell me, who is on top of this racial hierarchy and who is on the bottom? and who is the iconic person of this well published hierarchy?

Bernie does NOT encourage violence at his rallies, unlike Donald Trump who threatened to punch a protester in the face. Leaders need to be mature and know better than to encourage violence. :colonhash:

Bernie fans need no encouragement as demonstrated at DePaul the other night

That is an excellent point, well the first part anyway, think the second is stretching it. But it's so true and it's what makes me seethe all the time. They are in fact, even if subconsciously, obsessed with making and preserving racial demarcations.
