Athleticism > Aesthetics

Welcome to my fitness blog :dumbells:

As the title says I'm more interested in becoming stronger, faster and more functional rather than building huge arms, pecs and defined abs etc Obviously having those would be a great asset (after all I am human) however becoming a better athlete is, and always will be, my main goal in fitness.

Hope to post regular updates to keep this thread as a training diary where I can track my progress.

EDIT : Am off travelling in 5 weeks so lets see what noticeable gains, if any, I can achieve within that time

How are the burpees modified?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLx5q7M741k&t=1m59s - very similar to that however I add the extra push up. So when my feet are spread I do a wide push up and when they're close I do a close push up

Big fan of Jeff's work, most informative fitness channel on yt imo. Some of his exercises though while strenuous I'd never do at a public gym due to both space and sheer embarrassment
First post in a while :

Have still been training over the last two weeks albeit much less coherently, hence why I didn't post regular updates. Have experienced a string of bad luck to the extent that I no longer have transport to get to the gym. I have therefore started to cycle (on trenbolone lol) to the gym, about 16 miles there and back, which adds extra cardio to my routine though additional fatigue to my quads. As expected lower body lifts have gone down (on days where I cycle) therefore I try do them on days where my parents drive me in. On the plus side my upper body lifts, particularly my bench, have gone up slightly though still weak af in comparison!

9th June 2016 :
