LSE, KCL etc...? Consider the degree's as well please!

I'm interested in Investment banking. But thinking about my degree and uni.

Lse offers Social policy & Government studies which isn't really financial but the LSE brand carries great weight! (A A B)


But another great uni such as Kings College London (not as good as LSE) offers more financial and acceptable degree's such as Business & Management, (A* A A)or even Political Economy (A A A) ... Although no exactly target, its a Semi-target and the degree's make more sense. Although degree's aren't too important, which would be a better option that'll give be a better chance when competing for top banks in the future??

Why do you think the degrees are not too important? Is it common for people to enter IB with degrees in Social Policy or other such humanities? Just curious...

Yes, it is common for humanities grads to go into IB.

The degree itself means nothing unless you are working on something heavily quantitative, it's all about your general intelligence, people skills, ability to learn (there's global training for every single grad that joins any desk), previous experience, drive, resilience and ofc all the academic stuff like grades, university caliber etc..
