Hi everyone. Does anyone know what are the chances that nationalism is not going to come up this year? Have there been any years where a topic for 45 markers hasn't come up twice? I am attempting to tactically revise in the run up to exams so any predictions would be useful!

How come?

Well according to how I calculated it was because every other 45m on nationalism has been repeated 2 or even 3 times and the single doctrine one is the only one which hasn't been repeated, so I'm guessing unless they create a new question which I highly doubt, that the single doctrine is very likely to be the 45m
anyone doing units 3c and 4c??

The exam cycle for ideologies is always when they ask 2 15 markers and no 45 marker, they ask it as a 45 marker the following year so nationalism being a 45 marker is almost 100/100 i'd say tbh same with Anarchism for unit 3B

Thats what i thought was the logic behind it as well but the question about Nationalism looking to the future and not the past hasnt been asked since 2013

Omg I haven't thought of that, that makes it sound like it could come up too
I was wondering how does the method sound if I planned every answer and memorised them?

I thought that at first but then I got to ecologism and realised how much I hated it because of the strands, nationalism is much easier in my opinion.
I found nationalism so hard at first, then I realised there really is only 4 sub traditions and the questions aren't that broad.

I'm contemplating as to whether I should study 3 or 4 topics though

The thing is, when it comes to applying those strands to the questions, i just lose it bc i dont even know how to and it's so difficult to understand! Have you got any essays for the 45 markers by any chance?

For both units i'm only doing 3 ideologies - liberalism, socialism & anarchism and Multiculturism, nationalism & feminism

Look at the examiners reports on the edexcel website, those give model answers that have good marks. I think I'm just going to break them down into plans and learn them.

Examiner reports don't have the model answers for Unit 4 lol well they only have model answers for one question

single doctrine just means if its a single ideology?
so if the question was is liberalism a single doctrine..would you just do modern liberalism vs classical?

Ahhh it's going insanely bad for me, it's sad because I've been working hard all year and I just can't seem to grasp unit 3 and 4 b. The past few days I've just been feeling so stressed and non stop crying.
I've memorised all my notes and content but as soon as I get a question in front of me I can't answer it. I've tried to practise so many past questions yet there's no improvements I 100% feel like I'm going to fail.

chin up

anything is possible...don't give up...maybe we can all help each other?

What ideologies are you learning for unit 3 and 4?

i really hate unit 4...haven't even revised for it..so going to hope i do well for unit 3 so i can do badly and still get at least a B overall...

How are you finding Unit 3?

I must say Ideologies is really hard..the jump from AS is massive

just looking at the US topic...it seems so much easier especially with whats going on with the election over there.

I really should have studied America...our school was given a choice but i opted for Ideologies like the silly person I am. Oh well nothing I do now lol

Yup! You basically talk about the core values and how they both believe in them and then go on to say how classic and modern have different approaches to the ideology and how their views conflict if you get what I mean?

I'm struggling all round tbh, today I woke up at 9 and started revision and literally got NOTHING done, no improvements at all. I've been trying different techniques to learn it all but nothing works I've just been in a upset mood all day and gave up at around 11pm I've learnt the content but applying it to questions it what baffles me.

I have such a bad feeling for these exams, I did not feel like this at all during last years.

Up until now I was intending on learning all four, but today I realised its going to be too much for me. So for unit 3 I'm doing anarchism, liberalism and I'm stuck between conservatism and socialism. For unit 4 I chose nationalism, feminism and multi cultiralism.

What are you learning.
