doesn't matter what they felt like at the start - if at any point they feel unable to carry on they can break it

oh is it - dunno i'm only saying what ive heard from friends xP

I doubt they'd carry on if they thought they were going to die - but they obviously didn't and thought they were able to carry on.

It's just to appreciate the small things in life, like food, and food deprivation is the best way.

It's to feel what being in poverty is like.

And scientific research has shown it has some really cool effects, like it can help prevent certain illnesses.

It's also really spiritual. You get to contemplate more on life and your actions if you don't have to worry about food. And food is kind of a big distraction if you ask me.

cant see that somehow...
all id think about would be my stomach!

Your original post just came off as slightly judgemental/ignorant, that's all.

But if it's out of curiosity then that's fine.
We've got Lenny Henry to give us an insight into starving peoples' lives, so why do we need to fast?
Original post by Aimen.
It's solidarity man! Don't do it if you don't feel bad for the poor guys who die! Nobody actually forces you but imagine yourself in their place, others would do same to you!

So because some people are starving, you should also starve? great logic.

It surprised me too tbh
It's smth to do with the acid in the stomach, and not eating canhelp cure it
I dont really remember
Im sorry

No, I used to think it would be hard.
And I'd only think about how hungry I am'
But it's really not like that.

You don't notice the hunger.
I know it sounds like a miracle. But that's the reality of it.

Fasting does not cure illnesses, apart from maybe illnesses triggered by obesity as you'd lose weight.
