Yes, doing the new GCSE for maths and English. But I find the new specification for English easy because for a novel called 'Jane Eyre' we don't have to memorise any quotes as its a pretty big book.

If you watched the movie the inspector could have been showing them different pictures that he claims that's her.

You could discuss this by possibly suggesting that AIC has a slight Machiavellian feel to its plot. The inspector could have had a girl killed "for the greater good" to prove a moral point about the need for collective responsibility and a societal shift toward socialism.

In a slightly unrelated point, Priestley was fascinated by 'Dunne's Theory of Time' which suggested that the past was still present and that time was not as linear as accounts suggest. AIC explicitly deals with the nature of time as part of its plot. The dramatic irony and coincidental timings followed by the dreaded phone call at the end of Act 3...

Well Eva was probably an amalgamation of people, a false entity that represented the lower classes. But if we did take everything the Inspector said as true, it would probably have to be Eric. But this is to miss the Inspector's anti-individualistic point; to be concerned with notions of "person x is most to blame" is avoiding the message that everything is interconnected and each person played an important negative part (well, Gerald was alright..) in Eva's life.
