Guys, what is your opinion on reverse racism:

Does it actually exist?

White people being oppressed?

White people have struggled/ still do struggle just as much as people of colour do/have?

Is it revenge?

What is reverse racism? :holmes: Surely racism is racism regardless of someone's ethnicity?

Racism = Prejudice + Power.

When 90% of the UK is white, racism against white people in the UK is just pointless.

No it is not. That is the definition of INSTITUTIONAL racism. Please don't try to carry on this ridiculous myth that has spread across the internet
White people can experience discrimination and prejudice but not racism.

By this definition, they can:

'Prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one’s own race is superior'
No such thing as reverse racism.
Racism can affect people of all races.
Only a idiot would say that you cannot be racist towards any colour, White on white or black on black.
But reverse racism does not exist as it is just racism full stop. And the prejudice and power thing is totally ********.
Saying Oh look its a (Racist word for black person) is just as racist as saying oh look its a Cracker over there.

Racism is, by definition, prejudice, or any negative attitude towards a member or members of a racial or ethnic group on the basis of their belonging to that race or racial group. It has nothing to do with whether the prejudice is institutionalized, although, quite obviously, it's much worse and much more significant when it is.

But, if you want to do that route that the feeling needs to be institutionalized, here's a few choice experts from Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe, a black person in a position of power in a country where white people are in the minority:

Don’t they [Westerners/White people] know where their ancestors came from? The British who are here should all go back to England.

We will have no mercy for white people regarding the land, they cannot own our soil.”

We want it indicated in our laws that Zimbabwe has truly come back to its owners and the whites will never come back.

If that's not "institutionalized" then I don't know what is. Of course, this is no short span of time we're talking about. He's been in power for almost thirty years, starting his first term in 1987. I'm not saying this is comparable to prejudice faced by people of African descent in the Western world. But this too is racism. Institutionalized racism.

Or, if you don't want just that one single example, how about the rhetoric of the Imperial Japan? They considered themselves not only better then all other Asians, but better then the Africans, and, naturally, Europeans and other whites. Also, you should remember that this was actual war against these people - mass killings, death marches, pillages and burning of towns and villages.

Racism is not endemic to any one group of people or nationality, but the fact is that racism of whites towards other racial groups has caused the most damage historically. However, that doesn't mean that other racial groups aren't and can't be racist, especially in countries where they make up the majority of the population.
Maybe he means something like "Asian people are smart". It's not really prejudice since it's more of a compliment. I'm Asian btw.
Yeah.

That's a tad stupid definition you have there.

Racism is just prejudice / discrimination against people of an arbitrarily different race.
Reverse racism is a ridiculous term, however if you were to call something reverse racism, it would be positive discrimination, not racism against white people.

There is the trope that you can't be racist towards a white heterosexual man. In the grand scheme it is probably fairly accurate in that as a whole they hold a disproportionate amount of power. In the small scale however, it is just as possible to be racist towards them.

In fact if you want to classify racism under both positive and negative discrimination, white people probably get discriminated against constantly (albeit in a positive manner).

No such thing because it's just called racism! Not "reverse racism".

Yeah but race is a social construct so it is what we made it to be, and we made it so white people get the advantages and other groups dont
Are you serious? Racism can be towards any race. Racism is the belief that a race is inferior.
