Question about changing university

Hi all,

I have a question related to changing university after year one.
I‘m only interested in transferring uni, as I don‘t want to restart it from the beginning.
One of the universities told me I have to apply through UCAS, otherwise they cannot tell me if I can transfer myself to second year, or not.
I have one question about it: What happens, if I apply on UCAS, get accepted, but only to the first year and I refuse this offer? Do I still remain at my current university?

Thank you guys for your help in advance.

You don't have to take up an offer. So yes you can stay where you are.

So my current university cannot fire me, because I wanted to leave?

No. It's not a job (and even if it was that would be grounds for unfair dismissal).
