I'm doing biological sciences, and as for accomodation I'm still fairly clueless :frown: I've had a little look but im nowhere near decided yet. How about you?

I too im not the extreme clubbing and drinking type. Also doing Biochemistry perhaps we can start a thread or something during freshers for people like us , and have a group meet etc.

A lot of the university societies look interesting. Im not particularly outgoing but Im really looking forward to the social experience , new people, etc.

A fresh start, really.

Any in particular?
I know that I won't be doing any of the freshers events, too shy!

I'm the same, clubbing is completely not my thing hahah. Thought I'd just chip in as I'm doing Biochemistry as well

non extroverted life sciences people assemble!
So, as a pretty big introvert it's really up to you whether you get along and talk to people or not. I don't really speak to anybody in my flat, and the result is that one of them pretty much hates me and I'm just on polite terms with the rest; they don't really care, which is fine by me.

Just make sure you enjoy spending most of your days on forums and you'll be fine.

Hopefully Jack Martin or Arthur Vick as their the closest to Life Sciences with an ensuite bathroom, don't think I could cope with sharing one . What about you?

Was also thinking Jack Martin/Arthur Vick since their closest ensuite , also thinking Sherborne or Lakeside/Heronbank. I dont think i could share a toilet with others its too err... smelly
How many others are thinking of Lakeside/Heronbank/Sherbourne with their course in Math/CS/Engineering?

I feel like the southern halls (Rootes/arthur/jack etc..) with the exception of bluebell are the part halls and the ones up by the river are the quieter ones. I would put Bluebell down but its pretty expensive, look damn nice though!
Seems like I just joined the perfect thread! LOL
Love movies, convos, going out on a walk and all that kinda stuff... Doesn't mean I don't like clubbing/drinking.
I'd deffo like to get to know you (especially if you are into good movies/series) :P

Ayy, samee! I don't know if we have the same taste in series but I loved suits and prison break( waiting for season 6) basically crime and investigation tho wbu?
Just thought I would chime in as I used to work in a role that included allocating Warwick students to halls. I would estimate that 25% of students specifically indicate on their accommodation preferences form that they want a quiet environment, don't want to go clubbing/drinking, etc. And that was students who had been allocated a hall with a very social reputation - I suspect there would be a much higher proportion of "introverts" in the en suite blocks. There's lots to get involved with on campus that doesn't involve heavy drinking in the SU...

Hard to say but I've always managed to find a common favourite movie with other friends... I'll leave a list here and you go pick out whatever you want

Movies:

All Nolan movies (Inception, Interstellar, TDK trilogy, Memento, The Prestige)

Marvel movies (Iron Man, Cap. America... plotwise not that great but I do enjoy all of them)

Superhero movies in general

IMDb top 250 movies (Shawshank Redemption, Schindler's List, Forrest Gump, Se7en, Life is Beautiful, The Pianist, The Green Mile)

Gladiator, Django Unchained, Inglourious Basterds, Wolf of Wall Street, Planet of The Apes

Drama: Good Will Hunting, A Beautiful Mind, Warrior, Gone Girl, Revenant, 12 Years a Slave, Catch me if you can, Dead Poets Society, The Martian

TV series

House of Cards, Daredevil

Game of Thrones (who doesn't!!!!)

Peaky Blinders, Broadchurch, Sherlock

Suits, Prison Break, HIMYM, Billions, The Blacklist, The Mentalist

Arrow, Gotham (both my guilty pleasures :colondollar:)

Currently on: Peaky Blinders, GoT, The Man in the High Castle

Keep in mind that I've been watching movies and TV series for many many years now and I'm not that much of a bingewatcher. :h: I just like to enjoy good quality movies/series and I'll hope to help out the Student Cinema if I have enough free time. Also, there are sooo many films/series I haven't listed so let me know what kinda stuff you like!

Deffo looking forward to Prison Break seaon 5 and Suits S06! Crime/investigation is really interesting if they manage to get enough in-depth with the story. I'm afraid uni will require me to cut down on pursuing that hobby and instead focus on studying/socialising with other people. :/

Were you a student who helped out in this role or an 'outside'-nonstudent? Would love to do this if there's a student job for this. Also, can I specifically indicate that I need some 'cheap' acoomodation?
