Do examiners mark answers written outside the space provided?

if its within the border than yes

I have a horrible feeling that, like the idiot I am, instead of using the extra paper provided I continued some of my longer answers in biology outside the dotted lines. Will this still be marked or have I really messed up?
I'm not sure how much I did this, I've just realised my tendency to do it on past papers. My writing is still fairly neat and easy to read, I'm just wondering if they're still allowed to mark it.
