If there are equal number of Islamic Scholars on both sides of the debate, this situation would require you as a follower to leave the thing all together. For the sake of this argument let’s assume two Islamic Scholars had conflictedviews on the matter of Music being halal. You would be required to leave Musicas whole and not touch it or in this case listen to it.

Say what now wannabe TSR sheikh?

Are you saying if there is a difference in opinions between scholars you would take the more conservative option by default? How do you come to that conclusion?
There is a difference on opinion in whether you could do wudhu whilst wearing socks? You're saying by default we need to listen to the scholars that say you cannot do wudhu whilst wearing socks?

Defeats the point of having a scholarly consensus if the consensus is reached before there even is an agreement if you ask me...

I apologise if I misunderstood you.

well they arent proper muslims then unfortunately as drinking is a major sin in islam and is directly preached against in the quran

(5:90):
90. O you who believe! Intoxicants (all kinds of alcoholic drinks), gambling, Al-Ansab , and Al-Azlam (arrows for seeking luck or decision) are an abomination of Shaitan's (Satan) handiwork. So avoid (strictly all) that (abomination) in order that you may be successful.

its psychological proved that revising whilst listening to music doesn't really work that well
ermm dunno maybe i guess, but during ramdan its better to give most of ur time to Allah :colondollar:
What about listening to a gay guy singing? Is Queen Double sinful?

What do you think about Israel?

How are gays and women treated in Islam, in your opinion?

What is the average UKIP supporter like?

What do you think of ex-Muslims?

What will my punishment be for being an atheist?

How many virgins will you get in heaven?

Lol, i was expecting 1 question per person, but ok.

I'll answer all your question in one. for two reasons. I'm hungry and i'm not qualified to answer Islamic questions. One miss step and i get sins. So here i go, In Islam being Gay and acting open it is seen as haram. Not ifs or buts, i don't know the punishment for being gayand acting upon it. But if i was Gay, i probably am. But i think of it as a sacrfice, Allah the all mighty, made me like this for a reason. He wishes to test my Faith, to see how far i would go to believe in him. I won't deny my creators existence because i happen to be an epitome of the opposite of his messengers teachings, i would except that and move on. I think i have already. Explains my 0 lust for women. UKIP, don't they dislike everyone apart from 100% whites. No opinion.

I know i said i would answer all the questions as one, but being an Ex-Muslim is the greatest sin a Human can commit. You asked for my opinion, so i'll state it. In my own words, it's like being shown where the correct path is and you deny even seeing it. You get where i'm coming from. I know every other religion would say the same. It's just i feel the same way.

Athiest, those who believe in nothing but logic are the hardest to tackle. I don't want to group generalise but Athiest see every religion as novels fantasys. Fake and delusional followers, as people they're are cool to talk depending on the person. As people, i think them as equal to jews, christians, or any other religions. As to how much i like their ideology compared to religious beliefs it's way below the others.

Just realised i answered a different question which i happened to make up.
The last question, i don't have the knowledge.
You're trying to fit 2 objects in a hole which was designed for one object. It's either Quran or Music. If you listen to Quran then music you're just wasting your time. The Quran will not be memorised, you will forget it the next day. Try it.

I hate when people do this. Why do Muslims do this?

I'm not talking about what Muslims do, it's about what Islam teaches.
I'm talking about ISLAM NOT MUSLIMS.

What other Muslims do is none of my concern, What Islam teaches is my concern. You understand?

OK how about this - Are you comfortable with those people calling themselves Muslim? Do you believe they still have the right to label themselves Muslim?

Ok, here we go. I know i'm going to have a lot of people disagree with me,the majority. But nonetheless, the truth must be spoken.

Disclaimer: I'm not the 'best' Muslim out there, but i aspire to becomebetter. I don't have vast Islamic Knowledge.

Inspired by the misguided views of certain people on the Ramadan thread.

Last thing before i begin.

I welcome anyone from any religion to question why i say what i said. Idon't have immense Islamic Knowledge, but i'll try to answer any question ascarefully and correctly as possible.

Music is haram

I know it's a bold statement but hear me out.

There are 3 ayahs (verses) in the Quran which tackle the issue. You need tounderstand these ayahs are not to be followed as how you interpret it, but asto how the respected Islamic Scholars interpreted it. You would not try and diagnoseyourself with an illness based of what a book says and seek for Medicine tocure your self-diagnose illness. You would consult a Doctor. Would you not? There is an infinitely small possibility, that the way you diagnosed yourselfwas actually correct. Without prior medical knowledge it would be hard todetermine whether you’re ill or not. In that same way, you consult the interpretationof the Quran with a person with Islamic background. And to add to that all, youwill receive sins for twisting the words of Allah.

So we now got the basic fundamentals down. I can move to the situation athand. Is Music Haram?

According to the three ayah in the Quran it is. For those who wish tounderstand or know the ayahs , Google is your pathway.

Listening to Music is sinful, due to it being a waste of time. We as Muslimwish to memorise the whole Quran from back to front. Many, Islamic Scholarssay:

''One who has Music in his brain, cannot memorise the Quran.''

Two opposite cannot coexist with each other, is that not reasonablethinking?

Music is the sound of Shaytan (devil), i two have become a victim of it. Ilistened to it for so many years, rap, grime, rock, kpop you name it. Even Celticmusic. I've done every genre back to front. And here i stand before you tellingyou it's haram. I'm not ashamed to admit my mistakes, I’m a human, my heartgets pulled in every direction. I'm ashamed of the fact that i knew it washaram yet i continued to listen to it.

So, i advise any Muslims who think Music is halal, to abstain from it for thiscoming month. I shall also receive the rewards for influencing you ;p

I never said those who listen to Music are going to hell. But it is sinful, for all i know you could be the best Muslim, kind, charitable, modest yet youronly flaw is that you listen to Music.

1+1+1-1= does not equal a minus number. But in the month of Ramadan, the number of sins are multiplied so that might cause the downfall to your so far flawless record. Of good deeds...

Just sleep on it, how hard would it be to stop listening to music for amonth.

I'm trying to stop listening to it for the rest of my life, but change doesnot happen overnight, leave it for a month and see how hard it was without it.

Oh, i nearly forgot .

Ramadan Mubarak

I think I've just found the male version of moi. Sometimes, I feel like I'm going to be a good Muslim and then I go ahead and forget about that like Astagfirullah what I am doing. Then I cry constantly and pray for Allah to forgive because I know for sure Allah may have chose me to be misguided and I can't bear it so I continue to repent until I realise I can never be satisfied because only I will know what Allah feels about me on Judgement Day. I feel Inshallah this time I am going to fully commit to becoming a good Muslim bc I am now realising a lot and Ramadan is the perfect time (Ramadan Mubarak to you too!).

Also I agree, Music is haraam, people just like to justify it. Our beloved prophet (pbuh) said that there will come a time when Muslims will try to make music halal but it can't be done. For anyone trying to give it up, I recommend listening to songs with vocals only, they usually have "background music" that are made up of primarily voices so even though generally Maher Zain does create haraam content, listen to his vocals only music because his voice is so beautiful Mashallah. May Allah guide all of you Inshallah
