international relations ps

hey guys, so- i'm applying for university this year and I have no clue regarding what to put on my personal statement, more specifically- I have no work experience related to IR, and does IR even require work experience?

I may email my MP or MEP tomorrow, what do I need to include in the email- a CV and covering letter as to why I'm interested in the work experience?

I realllllly want this! D:
