Thing is. I wish I could say " I messed up, i didn't revise/ it was hard" but i tried my best ... It wasn't hard, it was just stupid. My teachers agree too, AQA is just an horrible exam board for A level BIOLOGY.

I agree! I revised so much and I did terrible :'(

for the tick box one about cell division

I ticked all three for the first and the last 2 for the second

Probably got it wrong...

I ticked first two for the top. And last two for the bottom

Oh damn, I didn't say anything about capillaries. I don't know if you needed it 😩😩

I didn't know if you did but I wrote about it just in case... Otherwise it's just a biol1 question.

Everyone I know didn't write about it though.

Said: Blood leaves kidney via renal vein.
Joins vena Cava. Blood in vena cave goes to right atrium. Right atrium to right ventricle.
Then pulmonary artery to lungs to be oxygenated. Then pulmonary vein to left atrium. Then to left ventricle.
Then left ventricle pumps it down the aorta.
Renal artery goes back to the kidney.

Damn i wrote the sort of same but included the hepatic portal vein/artery...

oh ok.

What did you say about how the cell was formed (the 1 marker)
Is a mount a sample?....i out cut a sample then place in isotonic fluid?

Also the last question regarding antibiotics in farm animals....did it say reason or reasons? I talked about antibiotic resistance and chance of spread to humns....also how it works (horizontal and vertical transfer)....but should i have mentioned price of antibiotixs etc instead of going into detail??
Does anyone actually know about the tick box mitosis/meiosis one?

I did:

Part of mitosis: 1
Homologous chromosomes present: 2,3

(Might be the other way around)
what was the hypothesis that they wanted to see?
For the abodimnal pumping, I said as co2 is released pressure increases because the insect is repsiring. Co2 is released so a diffusion gradient is maaintaned and oxygen can diffuse in for respiration.

Pressure increases to remove co2 which would lead to a build of acid in tissues..

I just said something random like this.

What do you think the grade boundaries for an A will be?
There goes my A. I got a B in this last year but I wanted to retake this because I already know unit 5 will be disgusting.

Oh well.

I had no idea for the first one.

I said collect a thin layer of cells so lift can pass through (since it's an OPTICAL, so light microscope)

That's seems like a good point though but would the cells be placed in a solution?

For the second question, I once again tried remembering the answers for a previous paper so I wrote:

Antibiotic resistance could spread to other animals/humans by horizontal gene transmission by conjugation
Unethical 😂

Same. I changed it to the wrong answer at the end. I'm hoping I at least get a few marks anyway
For the tick boxes, I ticked all three for the first row and then only the middle box for the second row

I did this question in the last few minutes but I thought:

Define abdominal pumping
Pressure increases in tube as CO2 increases
This causes spiracles to open Which diffuses out of spiracles
No pressure as CO2 diffuses out of spiracles so spiracles shut
What did you guys put for the sewage one???

Sewage contains food? Nutrients? There is no variety of food so only some species can survive and reproduce?

Species that are adapted survive and reproduce whereas other species die?

I don't know.... something like that.

isn't it the other way around because you get homologous chromosome pairs in meiosis?
