Prom?!

Scroll to see replies

I'm going to prom, it's exactly a month away.
I quite like my year group, and I think it should be fun.

Unfortunately a few of my friends can't go, which is a shame, but most of my friends are returning for sixth form so prom isn't goodbye. And there's always Year 13 prom.
Currently the after party (that about 10 people are trying to organise) doesn't have a location so we're not sure what's happening about that.

Can you please stop posting in this thread. Every time it comes up I read Porn and my hopes are dashed every time,

I never went, I don't regret my decision

I'm going to my prom this summer.
I am actually quite excited for it! Not because of the dresses and the fancy car (I'm taking my own car!), just because I think it will be a bit of fun with my friends and we will have a nice dinner
Don't worry about what you will look like or whether people will judge you - in the end they don't really care. Have fun with your friends and don't care about anyone else!

Been invited to the girl I'm seeing's prom - gonna be weird not knowing anyone haha but we'll have to see

Aw that's nice though. Some schools don't let you invite people from other schools

That's so true, I don't let people get to me, it's just them people can be annoying if you know what I mean.
Have a good time at your prom!

Well it's an all-girls school, so it would be unlikely that I'd be from that school  yeah they should allow outsiders and bfs/gfs to join in general

Exams are soon to be over and proms coming...

What is everyone doing for prom?

If your not going why not?
If you are that's great, have a good time.

Anyway I don't know if i should go to prom, I'm having mixed feelings.
One moment I don't want to go because I don't like certain people. But then its the last time with all these people the ones I like and those that i don't.

Is anyone feeling the same?

I'm going but i don't want to spend tons on a dress like all my friends are
What can i say i'm a cheapskate
I was in the same boat as you. I wasn't keen on the people or the menu but I'm looking forward to prom now. Still don't have a date for it but I think that I'll cope. Can't wait to dress up and look pretty for once ^^;
Not going because only 40-50 are going out of 200 and most of them are stuck up, anti social (ironic) gimps + none of my friends are going because they're either on holiday or have the same opinion as me!

For my 'prom' I'm just going to a party with just generally more social people who I can actually hold a conversation with for more than 5 minutes and not be called on my imperfections every time I walk past them.

It's good though, I'll see the last of them on Friday next week so they can bugger off for the rest of my life.

That's exactly what me and my friends thought so we are all going out together instead of going to prom and barley anyone from my school is going anyways most aren't allowed due to behavioural issues which is really unfair considering they really wanted to go.

That's lucky we aren't allowed to invite anyone heck half my year isn't even allowed to go 😂

In my school we were going to have one but for year 11s we would have had to organise one ourselves without the schools involvement. So everyone was arguing for months and nothing got done.

Haha yeah it's a shame! Ultimately it's a party representing the end of school life, so it should be a fun moment
I'm not going because I don't see the appeal and nobody is having an after-prom party so I don't see the point in going, my friends seem to think I'll regret it but I doubt I will - it's overrated

It is fun to make an effort to an event will all the people you go to school especially if you don't generally make an effort or don't care how you look for school. It's good that your going and hope you enjoy yourself.
Also you don't always need a date, you've got your friends

See i understand where your coming from when you say the people are stuck up and anti social etc.
I think have your own prom with people you get along with is a good idea. And it's my proper last day on Friday next week too!!!

My friends think that I'll regret going to and that it's worth going because it's the last time we'll be with everyone, but i don't really care about seeing everyone.
