Best laptop for uni?

Hi!
I'm off to uni in September and I've researched over and over again what laptop to get and i just can't decide. I want something that will last me the 3 years and is portable. I was thinking a mac book but I don't know whether it will be a typical apple product and slow down when they update it and they will bring new ones out. So yeah does anyone have any reccomendations for a decent laptop?

A laptop I currently own is the HP Spectre x360. Personally, it's amazing and worth every £. It costs around £900 - £1100 depending on the hardware you pick.
It's incredibly light, and you can switch from laptop to tablet etc.
It also looks amazing.

(This is kinda biased of me though ^)

The top 3 brands for laptops for everyday/college use and in general would be asus, lenovo or dell (in my opinion).

For lenovo, I recommend either a laptop from the ThinkPad series or the Yoga series.

Yoga example: http://shop.lenovo.com/gb/en/laptops/yoga/900-series/yoga-900-13/

For dell, I recommend the XPS series:

I'm not too familiar with asus, so I wouldn't know what laptop to recommend.
