Hey everyone

I just wanted to follow up FurryFace's post from about 5 and a half months ago on people's perceptions that the MHSS had changed and how or why this had happened.

People mentioned about 'regulars' not posting anymore and how it was difficult to keep up sometimes with the anonymous posters as reasons why they believed it had changed at time. I just wondered if people any further thoughts on this? If there was anything that we could do to make this place even more supportive than it already is or promote the Mental Health forum in general?

It's been really quiet recently in here and in the mental health forum in general and we'd love to make more active ^^

It would be nice to make this thread more active. I agree there.
Im gonna become a regular i think.

We need to promote the thread somehow

May be i could ads a link in my next blog post to show people that there is a place where they can share their problems?
Maybe that would bring in a couple more people?

Im not sure what else to suggest tbh, but any ideas that come up, im more than willing to help out!
This is such an amazing thread!

With regards to Anons I think it is quite easy to keep up with them.
Anyway I think the vast majority of people know who this anon is because people tell me so and also because I rep things i can relate to. I don't mind that at all, the only reason I use anon is because of post history and because I don't want my followers seeing that I post in here so anon is useful for that

I'm sure you can!!

Ah I see. It doesn't sound like you have much free time then?
Is there anyone you can speak to at your summer classes about this? Maybe they can be more lenient with things?
Ah excellent! I hope they're good! You deserve someone good after the terrible experiences!
I didn't know the NHS did things in the US tbh.
I've not had the best experiences with them myself. I've been discharged after seeing a therapist about my OCD and I'm nowhere near better yet!

Currently I'm fairly stable which is good (no idea how long that will last). The past couple of nights have been hell though. I've barely slept because of my issues.
But I'm mostly ok at the moment. Thanks for asking!

Have you thought about asking your doc about zopiclone or something similar to help you sleep? It is addictive, but when used sensibly it can really help. I find that when I don't get much sleep my mental health gets a lot worse so it's great to be able to take something and get some much needed sleep. Actually, I took temazepam last night because I couldn't sleep with all my worried thoughts regarding my class - it was a very refreshing night's sleep.

It's just one summer class and I don't think the professor can do anything to make it easier. It's a whole semester in 4 weeks so it is intensive. Really looking forward to the weekend, though I have a test on monday so not even really going to get much of a break. And no, the NHS don't do anything in the US, but I used to live in the UK and saw so many completely useless morons which really didn't help things and made me doubt the competency of every doctor and psychiatrist I've seen since.

I find it really difficult to keep track of them. If I wasn't a Support Team member I don't think I'd have any clue - I find it easier to remember something unique like a username rather than a seemingly random number.

(I'm not attacking your use of anon, I agree it can be useful, just mentioning that I find it difficult to remember what number said what).

Well it's alright, i'm not sticking about these parts anyway and i don't have the app so the little numbers appear for me but idk about app things

It's not the fact that I can't sleep, it's more the fact that if I don't do my rituals I'm scared my OCD will be set off in a dream (has happened before) and then will ruin the next day.
But I'm overcoming that now which is good.
Ah well I'm glad to hear you slept well last night! Sounds very relieving for you! (You do support the Florida Panthers d

Ah I see, that's a lot to get done in 4 weeks then! Maybe still speak to them anyway, just so they're aware of the situation!
Well even a little break will do you good! You'll be able to relax and forget about everything for a little while!
Ah ok I didn't think they did. But there are lots of rubbish doctors in the NHS I agree with that. I'm sure that it's different over there. They do seem to be pretty amazing in the US so I'd give it a shot and see how things go for you! But I'm sure the next one you'll be seeing will be amazing!
They will cure you and you can lead a happy life supporting the Panthers! (You do support the Panthers don't you?)
Really long post/rant sorry in advance haven't been on here in a while just no idea what to do right now...

Just need to know if this is 'normal' for want of a better word...
It's been a week since I fell head first down a flight of stairs in school. After spending 2 hours in the majors section of A&E strapped to a head and neck board I was told that I had just severely strained it and i've fractured my ankle.
But what keeps playing on my mind was that the emergency doctors, consultants etc told me I was lucky: to have not broken my neck, back, still be alive...
I keep on thinking about the accident and replaying it in my head and its made my anxiety and depression spike which is really really not good as I have my A2 exams like next week...
To make matters worse, I go into my school to revise because a: I won't get anything done at home and b: I need to see my friends to stop me slipping into even worse MH.
However, due to my ankle my school banned me from going up to our 6th form common room (on the 2nd floor) so I'm basically isolated in the library it seems so pathetic but not being able to socialise is and see my friends is just making everything worse...

Really sorry for being so pathetic, I know i'm probably just over reacting big time :/
Well done Airmed! SOOOO proud of you  :king1: :awesome:

I agree with what ScaryScience has said about spoilering and adding trigger warnings :yep:

Dunno if I count as a 'regular' but I've not been posting in here tbh because I ended up getting wound up by the posters who were coming in here and slating the Soc and saying how they don't get replies and how it's all cliquey. Not that I think they were wrong in what they said - they were very fair points.. but it led me to overcompensate and try and reply loads of people so that people don't get left out, but ultimately that's unsustainable and led to burn out.

I find the whole Anon thing very confusing to keep up with. I have no idea which Anon is which and what their issues are and subsequently feel unable to reply to them because I feel I should know the 'back story' but I don't :getmecoat: Not that we should get rid of the Anon function - it's an important one to have. Just adding my tuppence about finding it confusing. It's inevitably going to be confusing (especially when a new thread starts and all anons are renumbered) for people who have impaired mental function :sadnod:
Has anyone applied for an interruption of study before? How was it?

My wellbeing deteriorates every day. It feels like I'm just not supposed to be happy again :frown:

I've taken two - both for mental health reasons. I definitely feel like without them I would have performed badly in my degree and it would have been a waste of money. I'd definitely consider it.

This is not at all pathetic! It's perfectly normal to feel this way!
You've just got to try to block the accident out of your mind (I know it's easier said than done).
But I think that may be the only way to overcome this period.
You're not overreacting at all!
I really hope you can get over this because you're a lovely person and you deserve the best in life! I really wish I could help in some way but I guess this will have to do!
You're a strong person and will overcome this! Trust me!
You'll ace these exams too!

It's ok! I'm just trying to help out :hugs:
Yeah I understand that. I really hope it dies down soon because you're way too nice to be going through this!
I'm sure you'll ace these exams and get into the uni you're looking at!!
Has anyone ever been referred to a psychologist? As you know I've been referred to a psychologist instead of another CBT therapist after everything that happened with the last therapist and I'm just unsure of what to expect when seeing a psychologist. Will I be likely to get more CBT/ERP therapy or will it be more of a talking based approach? I should have asked the GP this yesterday but my mind goes blank when I am in front of someone in authority like a doctor :colondollar:
I think I'm going to post more frequently but I need to be anon as a few of my followers know me irl but not close enough to know my MH problems much. But I get the confusion as I'm often on app as well so I'll sign off with Anxious Anon in my posts.. (creative, I know lol)

Anxious Anon
