aqa Chem 2 assistance

For observations and stuff, how do we know if it is a precipitate or not? Is it the same as Chem 5 in the sense that if there's no charge then it's a precipitate?

Experimentally - if you see the transparent solution become cloudy/opaque
Theoretically - if one of the products is insoluble
