Economics vs economics and management

Is one degree regarded better then the other particularly when wanting to get a job high up in a bank / the finance sector

Equally OK.

You don't get a job high up. You start as an intern and progress. The more competitive entry jobs favour any mathematical degree but you will find those who have done History or Theology at Cambridge as well as Maths/Economics/PPE and so on in some sectors.
Oxbridge is an asset but some bigger banks are definitely trying to broaden their intake and actively like UCL/LSE/Warwick?Durham/Imperial and so on.The degree that you get in for is better than the one you don't. Choice of degree makes little difference.
Probably getting a first but certainly a 2:1 is helpful. To be honest most applicants won't get in for either at Oxbridge. You maximise your chances of getting a good degree from a good uni by working out which course you most prefer and which one you are best suited for. Then get the highest grade you can.
