GUYS WHAT DO YOU THINK THE GRADE BOUNDARIES WILL BE I REALLY WANT AN A BUT I THINK I GOT AROUND 120-130 OUT OF 200?!?!?! IS it possible?

calm down mate. you need like 140-150 for an A. and about 160-170 for an A*

Can someone do what they done last time by actually doing the paper ?? 🙂

Woouldnt 23 be 3x+4 because you cancel 3-x and x-3 out??

That's not possible as 3-x and x-3 are completely different numbers . It was a trick question

Perimeter x = 9.25
Counters = 0.09 and 0.36
Trail and Improvement = 3.7
Parallel Lines = 124 (might have been 126 i can’t remember)
Polygons = 144
DMV = 3
Compound Depreciation = no, care is worth £7766 or something
Pythagoras and Trig = 30.1
Stratified Sample = 11
Quadratic = 0.29 or -2.29
Bounds = 29.something
Sectors = 28.9 (around that)
Last one = 80.4

I got 80.4 for the last question too!

thats cos its right
i put 3 ?

me and a teacher just did the question, it was sine rule. SINX / 15.6 = SIN 90 /18. then change the formula to work out x and times by sin-1. This gave you the whole angle. remember it was two triangles in one- so you had to take away 30. The answer was in fact 30.1 to the nearest decimal.

or was this the first triangle question
(edited 7 years ago)
That was the first step

I did, did you get 80.4 degrees for the last one?

Yes i got 80.4 for the last answer i used area of non right angle triangle, cosine rule for angle and length..

An A is probably about 130-135

Lol. He said he got max 130 and you're telling him the grade boundary for an A will be 140 ? How are you making him calm down ?

I got 80.3 for the last one is this wrong?
The last question was 100% 80.4 degrees. You had to re-arrange half absinC to get 18cm2 divided by half x 7 x 8. With the number you get, use inverse sine. This gives you the angle between the 2 lengths. As you have an angle between 2 lengths, you can use cosine rule to find the final length. The length squared = 7^2 + 8^2 - 2 x 7 x 8 x cos (the angle got from before). Square root this answer to give you the final length of the triangle. Once you have all 3 lengths, you can then re-arrange the cosine rule to find the final angle (not given on the formula sheet). Do 7^2 + (length acquired just now)^2 - 8^2 divided by 2 x 7 x (length acquired just now) gives you cos of the angle they asked you to find. Do inverse cos on this number and you get 80.4 which looked very similar to the angle given. Who else did this for the last question?

I got 3.7 too but it seems more people got 3.8 :/

I got 3.7

The question asked you to work out the closest value that 'x' could be (to1 decimal place) if ("x cubed") - (5 multiplied by 'x') = 34

If you sub 3.7 into that equation you will get an answer of 32.153
If you sub 3.8 into that equation you will get an answer of 35.872

To then work out which is closest you had to work out the difference between each answer and 34.

For 3.7:
34 - 32.153 = 1.847

For 3.8:
35.872 - 34 = 1.872

Seeing as 1.847 is a smaller number than 1.872, it means that 3.7 is the closest value of 'x' to 1 decimal place
