AQA Maths FOUNDATION Calculator 9th June UNOFFICIAL MARK SCHEME

How did everyone do?

I can remember a few questions:

1)Cylinders question calculating the volume 6cm X r2 + 18cm

2) Bakery question was 130 divided by ratio of 6:3:1 = 78,39,13

3) Scale factor enlargement was 3

4) leaky cylinder was 60 minutes or an hour

5) ingredients question was 8 biscuits and need to find recipe of 20 biscuits so half the recipe of 8 to find 4 and times by 5.

6) frequency mean was around £17

7) holiday question with 15% off came to £977 so could afford it

8) the question where you had to find the first nth term. You had to work backwards instead of multiplying the previous term by 2 and takeaway 3 you had to divide by 2 and add 3. The answer was 10.

9) cube number was 1000 on front page (1mark)

10) triangle angle was 39 degrees(1mark) 51+90 = 141, 180-141=39 degrees

11) the goals scored on the hockey team I can't remember exactly but I think I got around 22 goals all together.

12) The last back question a lot of people got 180 for the area however not too sure

13) Converting pounds to euros for a holiday exchange rate of €1.20 if anyone can remember this let us know

14) Other angle question I believe was 360-65 = 295 degrees

It was about calculating the mean wage. You had to make a third column, then find the midpoint and add those up and divide by the amoun5 of people. I think I put 400 and something divided by 21 or 22. The answer was in the low 20s though can't remember exactly.

did you manage to get the last question?

about the triangle rectangle area

Just remembered Did anyone get the question about find the first term.. the rule was to multiply the previous number by 2 and subtract 3 I think?

I think I got 10 > 10 x 2 = 20 - 3 = 17(second term)

third term(17x2 = 34 - 3) = 31

something like that

That was a 4 mark question mate if I remember correctly, which isnt too bad considering the question and what you had to do to get the answer.

I was stuffed for the rectangle area question, gave it ago but got a bogus answer. Hoping to pick up a mark or two for my method though

I think I got 10 > 10 x 2 = 20 - 3 = 17(second term)

third term(17x2 = 34 - 3) = 31
