If they want is to 1 dp then you have to test halfway between the two 1dp values (so 3.75) to know whether 3.8 is closer or 3.7 so you would have lost at least 1 mark

Question 15 did not equal to £7766.22
Because 1st year depreciated by 23%
so 0.77 x 15000 = £11550
then after the 1st year it was 18%
so 0.82 x 11550 = £9471
therefore no it was not more than half


You had to times by 0.23 and then by 0.18 for the following two answers. I got what they are saying and so did the majority of year.

Last year total score was 155 for an A* (http://qualifications.pearson.com/content/dam/pdf/Support/Grade-boundaries/GCSE/1506-GCSE-Grade-Boundaries.pdf), 2014 was 164 for an A* (http://qualifications.pearson.com/content/dam/pdf/Support/Grade-boundaries/GCSE/1406_GCSE_Grade_Boundaries.pdf).

It'll be somewhere around that mark, around the 150-170 mark. Of course, that's vague given nobody really knows but I've got a feeling grade boundaries will be on the high side this year as most people are saying they found the papers relatively easy.

Judging from previous papers' grade boundaries, I'd say you'd need a minimum of 66/67 marks to secure an A

The wheelbarrow/trolley can only carry 250kg
But your density is still in grams so you have to divide the mass of the metal bar by 1000

Yeah, it'll help me to be more confident in myself if I have that A grade. I'm not doing A levels just because it's not the path that'll get me the qualification that I need but I'd still like an A grade. Also my Dad's pushing for it, so hopefully.

On the other hand, my mum never passed her maths, so ya know...

Would you have had to try 3.75? I didn't try it, I just tried 3.6, 3.7 and 3.8 and put 3.8 as my final answer because it says to 1 dp
Will there be a unofficial mark scheme like the one for the first paper? With the question, answer and number of marks.

The equation was x^3 - 5x = 34 (I think)

3.75^3 = 52.734375

-5 x 3.75 = -18.75

52.734375 - 18.75 = 33.984375

So the answer is less than 34 but it's at 3.75 already so no matter what the answer is it's going to be slightly more than 3.75 which will automatically be rounded to 3.8

Hehe I'll keep my fingers crossed for you too!! Your 6th form/college must be strict if you have to get an A... Usually it's a B??

It didn't say to do so, but probability is a decimal or percentage, not a fraction
