If i get a c in S1 but really high a's in c1 and c2, can i still get an A overall?
Total output in 2014 question;
The graph shows an increase of 0.6 units of output every month, why would the total output be 250.8.
Graph has Y intercept of 17 and increases by 0.6 for every value of n.
Could you explain how this is not the answer.

You need 240 UMS out of 300 to get an A at AS. So if you get a low C, 60 UMS, you have dropped 40 UMS from S1 so you must average 90 UMS in C1 and C2

Well I've not seen this particular paper but usually that would be mid to low 90s in S1.

No. You only need an A at AS and 180 UMS out of C3 and C4 put together.

So, to get an A*, you need
an A at AS
90% AVERAGE in C3 and C4
480 UMS out of 600 for the whole qualification

I'd say 2-3 higher than last years. Probably 58 for an A at most, most likely 57. In my opinion anyway. It was easier than 2015 but I wouldn't say it was a lot easier. I think 90 UMS will be 64 or 65.

It seemed like this year c1 and S1 swapped in terms of difficulty. C1's grade boundaries may look something like this, I'm guessing?

B-49
C-45
D-40
E-34
Give or take 2-3 marks for each grade. I'd say c1 will look like last year's C2. It's not that the exam was extremely difficult, it's just the fact it was much harder compared to the previous years and vice versa for stats

Probably something like that! My friend's maths teacher thinks that C1 will be around 70% (so about 51/72) for an A. I suspect that he's going to be disappointed!

Yeah. In my opinion 80 UMS will be the following (give or take up to 2 marks)

C1 - 53 (harder than usual)
C2 - 58 (average difficulty)
S1 - 58 (more on the easy side)

At the end of the day, I go to an extremely academic school (about 80% get at least an A at Maths A-Level) and C1 reactions were pretty terrible. C2 seemed average. S1 seemed good. I think TSR generally appeals to the best students so I don't think we will see much change in grade boundaries apart from in C1 and possibly by up to 4 marks in S1 (at most for S1).

Not correct. You need 480/600 overall (not necessarily at least 80/100 in each module) and at least 180/200 overall in C3 and C4 (not necessarily 90/100 in both C3 and C4). For example the following set of module results would get an A* even though some modules are less than 80 UMS and C4 is less than 90 UMS.

C1 - 87
C2 - 86
C3 - 93
C4 - 87
M1 - 63
S1 - 75

What school do you go to? Is it a public school?
