What did you guys get for the finding the mean on which was 4 marker

of the apples? i don't quite remember but the IQR was 11.

Hi I'm going to start and unofficial markscheme so add your answers and solutions,
Reps are not necessary but would be appreciated :colone:

It would be really useful if you could remember the question numbers
1. Order numbers correctly and include a key
b) 9/20=
0.45
2a. 5a*2b*3c =
30abc
b. Factorise fully 3y +6 =
3(y+2)
c. Expand x(x-3)=
x^2-3x
3. work out the perimeter:X=37/4 or 9.25
4. Smallest packet was best value for money because it was cheapest per bag of crisps
5. 4 times as many red than green: There were 0.4 blue and 0.15 yellow.
0.4+0.15+4x+x=1
0.55+5x=1
5x=0.45
x=0.09
4x=0.36
Green- 0.09 Red- 0.36
6a. 20.3
b. 68.04kg
c. 2.61m
7. 3.8
8a. 4:3
b. 480 pixels
9.x= 124 degrees
10. 7.92
11.£42.29
12. x=144 degrees
13.
-2 -1 0 1 2
-1 3 1 -1 3
Draw curve:frown:should be a N shape)
14. 3 Bars
15. No, because 7766.22 was greater than 7500 pounds
16. 128g
b.11g
17. 30.1
18. 10a^5b^4
b. y= 5p^2-x
19.11 males
20. x= 0.29 or x= -2.29
21. 29.25
22. F.d- 1.6, 3.2, 2.4, 1.8, 0.3

You had to work out the value for 3.75 as both 3.7 and 3.8 were not exact. As the value for 3.7 was closer to the 3.75 value than the 3.8 value, 3.7 was the answer.

Omg its 3.8, learn how to trial and improvement plz

Would I still get full marks for rounding down to 68 question 6b?

I did that so I hope so. I made such silly mistakes like rounding things😢😢
can someone write the marks for each question

It was 3.8 because the answer you needed was 34 and 3.75 gave you 33+ which is too small so it's somewhere between 3.75 and 3.8 so you do 3.8 as it was to 1 d.p. Hope that helps

Can you not see the mark scheme on the first page
I got all the same answers as the unofficial mark scheme but wasn't question 11 £44.88:

18 miles distance from house to work so each day he travels 36 miles.

We're told that he has to refuel 1 gallon every 45.2 miles.

As 1 gallon = 4.546 litres (as given in the question) he has to refuel 4.546 litres every 45.2 miles (simple substitution)

If that is the case, he refuels 1 litre every 45.2/4.546 miles (9.9428 .... miles)

As he travels 36 miles he needs to refuel 36/ (9.9428 ....) times, which is 3.6207.... times in his journey

This is 3 times and 0.6207... times but one can not have 0.6207 times of refuelling so we round up to 4 times.

It was 136.9p per litre so that is 4 x 136.9 = 547.6p

Add on the cost of parking which was 350p

547.6+350 = 897.60p

Multiply by 5 days = 4488p = £44.88

They never told you not to? So I hope we will, I just wish I left it as 68.04 to be safe
How many marks was the green and red probability question worth? I absolutely screwed that up! :s-smilie:

Wait a sec, x^3 - 5x = 34
3.7^3 - 5(3.7) = 32.153
34 - 32.153 = 1.847
So 3.7 is 1.847 away.

3.8^3 - 5(3.8) = 35.872
35.872 - 34 = 1.872
So 3.8 is 1.872 away.

This shows 3.8 being 0.025 further away than 3.7. 3.7 is closer. These are cubed numbers so even though you could round up from 3.75, the number gap changes as the numbers get bigger, so you count just assume to round up. They only care about 1d.p. numbers, using 3.75 doesnt matter. You have to find which 1d.p. is closer, and its 3.7.

i got 3.7
what was the context of the question for question 6?
I think the last question will be a range because it depended when you rounded.
I got 80.1

it said round to 1 DECIMAL PLACE. yeah it was close to 3.75. but ROUNDED it is 3.8
